During this small-group tour, you'll discover the historical charms of Side. You'll set out into the city on foot, strolling across glass walkways over age-old Roman streets. Your guide will explain the history of this once-busy Roman port and help you imagine life during the empire. You'll see the marketplace where slaves were traded, the Byzantine hospital and the Vespasian Gate, before heading to the old amphitheater. At the ruins that once seated 20,000 spectators, you'll find a bathhouse museum, home to the artifacts excavated at the site. Your final stop will be the Temple of Apollo, a seafront shrine which legend tells was gifted to Queen Cleopatra by Mark Anthony. After your tour, you'll have free time to visit the backstreet bazaars and try street food.
