The Gaia hotel is managed under an Italian Dominican couple. For us it was one of the best hotels we met here. Everything was super clean. Here you can see and notice the influence of European style and leadership. The junior suite was really great. The whole building is modern and stylishly furnished. It is located in a quiet and safe area in Puerto Plata. The room girls are absolutely great and do a perfect job. Breakfast was prepared every day with love and passion. There are also shops nearby. We can unconditionally recommend this wonderful hotel to everyone. We will come here again to this beautiful place of peace and coziness. Thank you Marina and Donino and the whole team for a few wonderful days.

She goes out of her way to answer any questions you might have, both before and after you have arrived. I arrived in the afternoon of Christmas Eve. She gathered some solo travelers from the hotel and took us for a drive and walk around town. Then she managed to find one of the few restaurants that were open, where we all had a lovely meal together. The hotel is very cozy and homey, with a large rooftop, a terrace, and a garden.

Located 100 metres from a private beach, Garden By The Sea offers an outdoor pool, snack bar and lush gardens filled with tropical trees and flowers. Central Sosúa is 3 minutes' drive away. Breakfast was cheap and very tasty, prepared on the spot from fresh ingredients. Niki (the host) was a very kind and helpful person. She made the whole stay so much better and the next time I think about going to DR, she will be the first person I will contact.

Located in Cabarete, El Maginifico is a beautiful beachfront ApartHotel just 8 km away from Encuentro Beach which offers free Wi-Fi access, free parking and a hot tub. Best place I have ever stayed at ever! I will return every year I visit the DR! The staff was absolutely amazing! Very friendly and helpful. The room has an amazing view. There were pools and hot tubs in several places on the property. Every spot on this property was beautiful. I cant say how much I loved this place and the price was perfect! Cant wait to return next year.

B&B Pavilion, located in Sosua, offers an outdoor swimming pool, free Wi-Fi access, and free private parking. The bed and breakfast is just a 5-minute walk away from Laguna Beach. The host was very nice, and would prepare delicious breakfast at any time we wanted in the morning. Her house is beautiful and spacious with a big swimming pool.

Situated within walking distance of Sosua's beautiful bay and beach as well as restaurants and nightlife, this hacienda-style hotel offers enjoyable activities and delicious dining options. Great staff. Real good breakfast. Center of everything. 2 beaches in walking distance. One peaceful and one full of bars. Pick your day.

It is a 15 min walk to cultural centre of Puerto Plata and a 10 min drive to the cable car station. The apartment had a lovely balcony with a great view over the city and ocean. Juan and his wife both met us and gave us good advice about sightseeing, restaurants and other local information. They were very friendly and helpful and Juan spoke excellent English. The apartment was well equipped and it was good to have a secure parking space in front of to the apartment.
