The house and territory around it is just amazing. The beach is 5 min walk and Kolkas rags is about 15 min walk. The owners are the nicest people ever :) Very warm welcome with snacks for adults and cookies for a child. The house has all necessary items for cooking, tea, coffee, sugar also. Cotton pads, shower gel, shampoo, hair dryer in the bathroom, what is an extra for this kind of vacation houses. Everything is clean and new. Air conditioner, which allowes you to stay there in comfort even when it is chilly weather. Slide and swings for kids also is very useful if you have kids with you. Different board games and outdoor games are also useful in the evenings. As we like to make bbq, the grill on territory was very appreciated by us. Little cozy terrace and big table by the grill was used to enjoy meals outside. We loved our stay there so much that considering to come back again. We forgot the charger in there and the owners were so nice and sent it to us with no extra charge.

The most important thing I want to say in this review is that Janet is really an excellent host and strives to make her guests' stay carefree and comfortable. The house is really nice and we were glad to spend 2 nights there. Now to the details: 1. The first floor without curtains - living room, corridor, kitchen - everything is clearly visible through the panoramic windows from the street in the dark. This is irrelevant in the quiet season, as no one but Janet herself walked past the house, but for privacy lovers, this may seem uncomfortable. 2. The fireplace created 50% of the entire positive atmosphere. After a brief discussion with Janet and proving our ability to use it, we were allowed to use it ourselves. It both heated the living room and created a pleasant atmosphere (there were plenty of firewood). 3. It was absolutely right decision to bring a wireless speaker and a laptop with us, as there is neither a TV nor other entertainment devices in the house. 4. A big sincere advice to Janet - if you enter the house, always warn the guests in before. This is just a subtle point of decency and intimacy, which is quite dangerous for a host to overstep. (in our case, this happened only once. Janet takes all the remote controls of the air conditioners with her, so we asked her to come and turn temperature a bit up) 5. Huge thanks for the 2 poufs, on which we spent most of the time, as there is no sofa or comfortable chairs on the first floor. Only dining furniture and 2 poufs. 6. If you've reached this point, you're lucky because it's the most important - the water. The tap water is unbearably yellow and smells unpleasant. Hence all the ensuing consequences - washing food, teeth, showering. To be honest, we showered partially with water from the Venden barrel (there's plenty of it in the house).

Staying here was magical! Lying in bed overlooking the Baltic was so relaxing. I took a long walk on the beach and only saw 2 other people the whole time. It was absolutely perfect for relaxing and getting away from the craziness of the big cities. Absolutely worth the several hour drive from Riga. The night sky was one of the top 2 night skies I have ever seen, being able to see every star in the sky and the Milky Way streaking across the heavens. It was an absolute highlight of my Latvia & Estonia trip. Bed was comfortable and the cabin was clean and had cute decor and even some cute battery powered string lights.

The location is awesome, walking distance to the beach. The setting is very quiet, the house is fully detached, far away from the next house, it has private parking. The house is small, but it has a large terrace, with a dining table and a hammock, very comfortable. We loved Kolka, we will be back!!
