This is one of the best hotels out there. From the very start the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was absolutely stunning and the food was 10/10. It's located in a cute/quiet town. It's absolutely perfect for a Christmas holiday!

Backpackers Luzern offers accommodation in a quiet area on the shores of Lake Lucerne. There is a shared kitchen and a common lounge area with a tabletop football table at the property. I travelled with my mother and I stayed in 2-Bed Female Dormitory Room with Shared Bathroom. I requested while booking to put both us in the same room. And they did which I am grateful for! It was my mother´s first experience of staying in a hostel kind of environment and she now has high expectations from every hostel! I stayed there during end of November for 5 days and the heating was excellent. Having kitchen with cutlery was helpful to reduce the costs of eating outside. I am very happy to use this as my base for the 5 days during my trip to Switzerland. To be honest, my other stays in Switzerland which were in fact in proper hotels were not as good as my experience here. Since we stayed for a long duration they provided us duvet cover, bedsheet, towels and we also got them changed after two days. Yes, the washrooms were clean!! Hence go for it!!

Upon arrival, the staff was very helpful and willing to give recommendations about the city and tourist attractions. The room was very clean and comfortable. You can go to the main station and city center very easily taking a bus in front of the hotel.
