Renovated in September 2018, Guesthouseほのぼの offers an accommodation with free WiFi in Fujikawaguchiko, 1.3 km from Lake Kawaguchi. It's a really nice guesthouse with good vibes. The staff were really nice and they were kind enough to shuttle us back to the station later than the check out time. The Mount Fuji view from our room was amazing, it's better than what the pictures show. We also met some really cool other travelers there.

The hosts, Ken and Yuki, were absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome and comfortable! You very much felt like a cherished guest in their home. Such a lovely couple! Having now done the hike between Magome and Tsumago I would definitely recommend staying in Magome (which seemed to be the less popular choice when I was researching.) Tsumago was so charming but seemed much much sleepier - Magome is already very quiet and quaint with lots of charm. Restos/ cafes and shops in Tsumago seemed to close early or if they had sold out leaving you less options in the way of food or snacks. Not a deal breaker but just something to consider. Not sure if this was to do with the time of year - we were there in early March - but Magome was hardly bustling in comparison. Sakanomichi was lovely, beautifully finished with comfortable amenities, gloriously warm showers after a cold days hike! Ken and Yuki thank you for everything! Also, definitely pop to Hill Billy Coffee in Magome if you have time, its well worth the stop in! Delicious coffee!

They have a pick up and drop off to the nearest train station. There’s a family mart next to it and 20mins walk to the train station. Highly recommended!

Snow Palace Nozawa ligger i Nozawaonsen, 21 km fra Ryuoo Skipark og 32 km fra Jigokudani Abepark. Her er et fælles køkken og et fælles opholdsområde samt gratis wi-fi overalt. Modern, clean facilities. Exceptionally helpful staff! Even though it's a bit of a walk to the main gondola, the staff provided us with a ride every morning. Coming back home for the day it's only a few minutes from the slopes. Would certainly stay here again.
