Fantastic location, extremely personable staff thanks to the wonderfully friendly Yossey who runs this guesthouse. He was helpful and kind, and talking with him and other guests in the house was a highlight of my trip. Beautiful house as well if you want to experience a traditional Japanese house structure without paying high prices for a ryokan.

Offering inner courtyard views, ぽつぽつあん is an accommodation set in Ise, 400 metres from Sarutahiko Shrine and 1.6 km from Ise-Shima Nat'l Park. This stay was absolutely fabulous! My husband and I stayed here as our home base for a nearby event and it exceeded our expectations. The host was amazing and even gave us a small gift since he knew we were in Japan for our honeymoon. The home is a perfect blend of modern and traditional - the tatami mats were pristine, the design was thoughtful, and we loved the kotatsu. The location was wonderful - on a quiet street, steps away from a convenient Family Mart, and just a short walk from Oharaimachi St and the inner Shrine (the highlights of our whole trip!). We love this spot and hope to stay here again in the future :)

Knowledgeable, helpful and friendly host. A lot of special touches like fresh orange juice, fresh baked goods. A very enjoyable sea kayak tour. Highly recommend that you let them cook dinner for you!

Situated just 12 km from Ceramic Art Place by Kenji Azuma, Kamenarien features accommodation in Ema with access to a garden, barbecue facilities, as well as a shared kitchen. Located at the rustic countryside, the place was amazing. The hosts were very friendly and spoke very good English. We have fun touring around the small farms and feeding the chickens. We rented a car so we have no issues getting there.

Located in Kumano and only 1.6 km from Odomari Beach, Guest House Wagaranchi Kai provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Simply the best place to stay in Japan! Been here twice and both times made unforgetable memories! I hope I will be able to return soon

This was a truly memorable and awesome stay for us in Kumano. We were kindly welcomed in a house filled with figurines, games and toys from the early 2000s. The host was extremely kind and even helped us set up a projector to watch a movie! One of the most unique stays we’ve experienced in Japan so far! There’s also an incredible restaurant nearby called 食堂 あお where the owner speak English and we got to taste the best fish we’ve ever had! Overall highly recommend!!

伊勢ゲストハウス紬舎-Ise Guesthouse Tsumugiya- is located 550 metres from North Exit of Iseshi Station, and 750 metres from Ujiyamada Station. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. It's 10 minutes walk to Iseshi station in a quiet neighborhood, making it a convenient base for exploring Ise. The guesthouse is a renovated old house which was quite nice with a comfortable living room for relaxing. I was glad to see that the bunk beds were solidly constructed (no creaking or shaking when occupying the upper bunk). The staff were very friendly too.

Location, super clean, quiet (except for the person who started packing at 1 am for an hour ...), comfortable and ample space available.
