Detente is a few kilometers out of Lauzan, which means it is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The room was lovely, clean, and had everything I needed. The swimming pool was wonderful.

A beautiful spot and a really lovely, friendly, helpful host. Spacious accommodation, with plenty of peace and quiet. Madeleine went off every morning to get us fresh croissants and baguette for breakfast. Huge self-catering kitchen which was very well equipped. We will be returning. No public transport in the area, so be prepared to hire a car, or drive.

The owner was very pleasant and took every effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible - in fact she went out of her way to be helpful. The property is situated in a beautiful part of rural France and the views and environment are just wonderful.

Beautiful old gite in a very tranquil setting. It was very tastefully furnished and had a well equipped kitchen. There was a pretty courtyard garden where we sat and eat meals outside . Sophie, our lovely host, brought us sunflowers from her fields, such a lovely touch.The vegetable garden beyond the courtyard was beautiful and very well kept, with chickens and geese. Sophie gave us wonderful freshly picked vegetables and eggs each day. Her dogs were friendly and obedient. The area was really quiet and we slept well in such a rural location. Although there weren't any shops in this little village, there is a big supermarket and plenty of good shops about 15 minutes away by car in Miramont, and there was a small grocery shop about 7 minutes away in the other direction. It is well situated for exploring the picturesque region, with bastide and market towns, vineyards and chateaux. At Lougratte, only 15 minutes away, there is public swimming available in the lake. Bergerac and the Dordogne are about 45 minutes away by car. There is no local public transport. This gite would be a great stop-over if you were traveling in to the south.
