Amazing place, super clean, great onsen, amd there is even some massage chairs in the common area!!
Cozy vibe, people, and Yuki jung!
location is very good, right outside the ropeway and chairlifts. ladyboss is super friendly and helpful. i wasnt well and skipped breakfast, she hand grated apples and gave me an energy drink to help my indigestion! I'm really grateful for her help and concern. she also gave us ticket to the public onsen. 😍 thank you so much, we had a wonderful time.
Owner is super friendly super accommodating, very comfortable futons
Everything was great, from the room to the food to the hosts and the dog.
Onsen was much needed after snowboarding at Niseko, no tattoos though per usual, breakfast buffet had a great selection and bus to zao onsen was right across the street.
All the staff we met was absolutely delightful. We enjoyed the food, the hotspring and our room. Room may seem abit dated, but was comfortable.
Friendly people, nice building, good location, amazing breakfast.
The hotel is staying in beginning of village, opposite of bus stop. Very convenient to go to ski station by walking (from 7-10 minutes depend on which station you want to go for ski). There are restaurants just next to hotel. Public onsen is 2 minute walk but they have their own small onsen inside hotel. Host is super kind. For restaurant, recommend to book in advance. Food is delicious in this village but price is higher than all other ski resort that we had been such as Nozawa onsen. Renting equipment for ski is super easy. There are shops in all stations with different price. Cheaper to go to station 1 with big Ski center.
Nice traditional japanese style room, enjoyed the kotatsu in particular
The room was very beautiful! just like a tatami room should be!:)
Excellent location. Lovely guesthouse. Taka and her family were so friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend.
Beautiful onsen facilities, with the option to check out sister hotels at no cost. Great staff, and a shout out to Sato for the restaurant recommendations and help with reservations!
Spacious rooms, tattoo friendly onsen, spacious break room, kitchen amenities, accessible laundry, spacious heated drying area for snowboard gears.
Hot spring is amazing. Breakfast is also great.
We appreciated the breakfast choices and enjoyed our meals in the lovely dining area!
Newly renovated and spacious rooms. Easy access to the slopes.
Amazing free breakfast! Awesome dinner choices! Friendly staff and helpful! Quick pick up with nice car type snowmobiles from tram! Amazing scenery! Beautiful old hotel! Can get to snow lift easy so close.
Amazing location for a super great value. Ryota is so welcoming, really made this trip amazing. He has an impressive bars and will love to tell you about it. My personal favorite is the plum, ask him about it... ;)
This place has it all - western beds, Onsen, friendly staff? ski in & out and a great breakfast. We would definitely stay here again!
This place feels like a cozy winter cottage and honestly felt like home. I stayed here for three nights while snowboarding at Zao Onsen Ski Resort, and it was the best place I stayed during my first trip to Japan. The house is small but extremely cozy, warm, and comfortable. The rooms are perfect for winter, and the heated floors were amazing after long cold days outside. The living room is also very cozy and a great place to relax. Everything was very clean and tidy, including the shared bathroom, which was always spotless. The location is also very convenient. Zao Onsen Ski Resort is only about 10 minutes away by bus. There is also a free shuttle, but it only runs on certain days, so I recommend asking the owner in advance. The owner provides all the information you need, which is especially helpful if it’s your first time visiting Japan. Another great bonus is that you can rent a snowboard from the property (snowboard only, no boots or bindings). There is also a taxi option from the ski resort to the house, which cost around 1100 yen, so transportation is easy even if you don’t want to rely on the shuttle. The best part of this stay was the owner. They were the kindest and most welcoming host I have ever met. They made me feel very comfortable and helped with everything. On the first night, they even shared dinner with us, which they didn’t have to do, but it made the experience feel even more special. If I ever come back to Zao in the future, I will 100% stay here again and nowhere else. Highly recommended.
