The facility is owner operated. He is friendly and can speak English, although he is Spanish. Most willing to try to get us to a specific tour by calling the organisers. The room was spacious and the swimming a great relieve in the heat of Puerto Viejo. About 300 metres from the sea and very nice beach restaurants.

Välibasseini, tasuta privaatse parkimise, aia ja terrassiga La Bonita Lodge asub Puerto Viejo linnas, 1,3 km kaugusel Negra rannast. Selles kolmetärnihotellis on turismiinfo. Everything! Beautifully designed, new bungalows in the middle of a tranquil oasis of a garden with delightful pool. Also with private outdoor shower! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Some other travellers mentioned it was far from the center but it wasn’t an issue for me, I walked every day and it was about 35 minutes along the beach. Would highly recommend if you want to stay in a beautiful hotel in the middle of nature and have a great night’s sleep while being close to Puerto Viejo.

Gonzalo is a really nice host who makes the best breakfast and always gives good tips on how to get around the area and what to do there. The Hostel is really nice in the middle of the jungle which makes staying there already half the experience.

With an amazing beach within 2 mins walking distance (the most beautiful beach we could find in the area + barely visited by others). 15 mins car ride to Puerto Viejo. Overall outstanding place, worth every penny. Would definitely come back here! 10/10

This is a small complex, with about ten rooms clustered around a small, artistic pool. It is on a dirt road beside the ocean, surrounded by jungle. You can cross the street and you are at a beach, which is usually deserted. The high light for me was when about 20 howler monkeys, perched in trees just outside of our cabin, and screamed. There were large and small monkeys in the group, but late evening they all left except for three midsize monkeys, which we assumed were juveniles. Those three spent the night in the tree by themselves, but from 5 o’clock in the morning for about an hour, those three yelled and you could hear monkeys in the distance responding to them. Then a couple of big monkeys came and claimed them and they went off into the jungle. There were parrots, an acouti, and all kinds of other birds, but the howler’s were the high point for me.

Although we only stayed for one night, this place totally exceeded our expectations. The room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean and tidy. The bathroom looked brand new — very fresh, perfectly clean, and with a large, great shower. The owner is absolutely fantastic. Because of heavy traffic, our arrival was delayed a lot and we only got there after 11 pm. She was incredibly kind, told us not to worry at all, and waited for us. When we arrived, she personally showed us to our room and explained everything. In the morning, there was even a beautiful parrot playing on our porch, which made the experience feel truly special. We also decided to add breakfast, and it turned out to be the best breakfast we had in Costa Rica — fresh-squeezed juice, fresh fruit, homemade pancakes, and freshly baked bread prepared by the owner. Everything was delicious and served in such a warm, friendly atmosphere. We recommend this place with all our hearts.
