Clean and spacious apartment. Staff were super friendly and helpful. It was nice to have parking on site. Breakfast was mostly sweets and treats. Location was excellent - just around the corner from the ocean promenade. Fairly quiet too.

Residence Porto Ulisse is surrounded by tropical gardens on the west coast of Calabria. The accommodation was very clean, with housekeeping tidying the rooms every day. We had a ground-floor apartment facing the garden, so it was nicely shaded. The air conditioning was only in the hallway (kitchen), but it managed to cool both bedrooms—though it was necessary to keep the doors to both bedrooms open at night. The staff were very friendly and kind, and the bar had good prices. The pool was clean, with stunning views of the sea and, in the distance, the smoking volcano Stromboli. It’s about a 10–15 minute walk to the center of Tropea. You can also take a taxi or call an Uber. The nearby beaches were clean with excellent water quality. Breakfast was not included in our stay—we didn’t mind, as our children don’t eat much in the morning. For dinner, there was a pizzeria just behind the house, or restaurants in the center of Parghelia or Tropea. It’s a great location for many trips around the area, including excursions to Sicily and Mount Etna (by car). We would definitely like to return next year. We stayed in the apartment for a total of 9 nights. Many thanks to Aldo for the hospitality :)

If you’re looking for a safe, clean, and perfectly located place to stay in Reggio Calabria with the added bonus of an exceptional host, this is it. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

The location was perfect and the accommodations were comfortable and well fitted. Dino and Dina, our hosts, went out of their way to ensure that we were well cared for and had everything we could want. Each day, our room was kept spotlessly clean and fresh and a suitable breakfast was provided. The hosts helped us navigate our way to a mountain town that was not easily traversed, and they provided us a mini-fridge during our stay without us asking and for which we were very grateful. We very much enjoyed our stay.
