The interior was really cozy and the hosts were extremely friendly. There’s also a cafe bar so you can get a coffee or night cap which was lovely. There’s also hosts also made great suggestions for places to go for dinner and trails we could go on a walk on. The breakfast was also delicious. Absolutely recommend this place for your quiet getaway to Tsuwano.

Everything was 10/10 great place. highly recommend for anyone passing through. We were bike packing and the owners were very helpful.

Το Inishie no Yado Keiun βρίσκεται στον προορισμό Izumo, στα 14 χλμ από το σημείο ενδιαφέροντος Hirata Honjin Memorial Museum και 14 χλμ από Atagoyama Park. Clean, quiet, great food, staff very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable, I loved the onsen in our room, and the self grinding coffee was excellent, beautifully decorated.

Azmo guesthouse is prepared for cycling tourists. They have a lockable garage, which a real cyclist will highly appreciate. The host and owner was very helpfull and kind.

Το 喜庵 KIAN the guest house by the castle απέχει 900μ από το σημείο ενδιαφέροντος Μνημειακό Μουσείο Lafcadio Hearn σε Ματσούε. Προσφέρει καταλύματα 2 αστέρων και διαθέτει κήπο. This is the perfect place to stay in Matsue. Great value, great place and a wonderful host. If both rooms are available, see item 3 below re the difference. Tip: it's worth spending 5 mins reading the helpful suggestions from other guests in the guestbook. 1. Location - excellent, central and walking distant from restaurants and bars, while being in a quiet location. If you're coming from the JR train/JR bus terminal, you'll need to take a bus (or taxi). Note that as at Dec 2025, Google unhelpfully doesn't tell you which of the many bus stops you need to catch your bus from - however, Navitime does. 2. Host - Emi is a proactive and welcoming host. She checked on us regularly and is bilingual in English so we had some lovely conversations. Her suggestions and those of her previous guests in her guestbook allowed us to have a really full and interesting 2 days based in Matsue. This included great bar/restaurant suggestions - Cafe Puente quite rightly comes up in many people's suggestions. 3. Rooms - there are two. The larger ones is upstairs, however for two people we found the downstairs one just fine. We decided to stay in the smaller downstairs room because we didn't want to go up and down the stairs. However, there were no other guests during the time we stayed. Note that the downstairs room is where the kitchen, showers and entrance area are. The upstairs room is more insulated and probably quieter if both rooms are occupied. However, while we stayed during mid-December, thanks to the heating on timers in the room and the kitchen, it was never too cold. 4. Facilities - we had breakfast in the kitchen and found it to be perfectly equipped for our needs. There are two bathrooms (each with a shower and toilet), which means that even if both rooms are occupied, there would always be a shower and toilet available for each room. The shower had good pressure and temperature.

Stunning, authentic and clean room(s), kind and understanding staff who spoke to me slowly in Japanese to assist with checkin, and rules were reiterated in English on documents anyway despite Matsue being relatively rural. Absolutely beautiful view at both night and in the morning, I was shocked! Onsen came free with the stay. Zero complaints, the best stay of our trip around Japan.

Το 琴ヶ浜琴風亭, το οποίο είναι σε Ōda και σε απόσταση 400μ από Παραλία Kotogahama, προσφέρει θέα στη θάλασσα. Wow - where do we begin? Kio was a phenomenal host! When we booked this stay, we didn't realize that it was more like an air-bnb. The home is shared with Kio and her mom, but we had our HUGE private living quarters and bathroom all to ourselves. We had complete privacy unless they were serving food or we had questions. We were so well taken care of that it was the most personable experience we had while traveling around Japan. We really felt at home. The personal touches and amenities were the best as well as the treats and tea upon arrival. Don't hesitate to book a breakfast in the morning... so delicious! Plus, the town is so sleepy that there was nothing to eat in walking distance. The wood fireplace was my favorite detail and being just steps from the beach was such a treat. Make sure to explore Omoricho during your stay here and stay for at least 2 nights!! Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! We hope to be back some day soon!!
