I stayed at Haus Garnison solo due to a last minute change of plans and it was great. Gareth was very friendly and accommodating and gave many awesome recommendations. It is walking distance to the main sites and was perfect for a weekend trip to Swakopmund.

The lodge is beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained, with comfortable, clean rooms and great attention to detail. Dinner and breakfast were included and both were excellent — tasty, well-prepared meals with generous portions. The staff were friendly, professional and made us feel truly welcome. Overall, everything — the accommodation, food, service, and atmosphere — exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended, and we would gladly return.

Let me get this straight: Japie’s Yard is the best place you could ask for in Swakopmund. Rooms are cozy and his pets are the sweetest (Iga, Japie, their dogs, Piccolo and Luna, their cats) , but that’s not the best part of it. Jessica and Peter went over and beyond in warming and welcoming us, from doing the laundry to setting up a fire after dinner time for us to chat and enjoy a drink. We felt so at ease with them, that we ended up sharing memories with Peter over a fire and under a starring night, surrounded by all his wonderful animals. Make yourself a favour and reserve Japie’s Yard when you come visit Swakopmund, you won’t regret it.
