Very nice staff, family like atmosphere! The hostel itself is perfect, big rooms, comfortable beds and nice view from the window with small balcony. If you stay in the dorm there is still a perfect spot on the rooftop where you can enjoy your coffee and meet up with people. The staff is very helpful with either organizing the trips you want or advising how best you can do it on your own. Chachapoyas itself and areas around are perfect for hikes and visiting different cultural sites as well. Very recommended!

The bed is very comfortable. The yard/garden is so beautiful, quiet and tranquil. The kitchen has everything you need. Very well located, just two block away from the main plaza. All the good restaurants cafés are just around. Above all, the host Kari is really sweet and kind! She gave me so many recommendations about food and even draw a handmade map for me, then walk me to the restaurant and helped me with ordering typical food because I don’t speak Spanish (which is a shame). She gave also a lot information on transportation. I wish I could return to this place one day.

We had a wonderful experience staying at Casa de Mario. The location is perfect, right on the hiking trail to Gocta waterfall, with a beautiful view of the falls from the property. The village is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature. Mario is an exceptional host — he knows everything about the area and made us feel completely at home. He even made us a delicious homemade pizza with a purple corn crust — everything organic and full of flavor. We saw hummingbirds in the garden and many other beautiful birds around the property. It’s a great spot for bird lovers and nature lovers in general. If you’re coming to Cocachimba, don’t hesitate — Casa de Mario is the perfect place to stay!

Wonderful place to stay just outside of town with a nice view from the top floor to the mountains. It’s about 10-15 minutes on foot to the center. Very friendly owner who also owns a travel agency. He goes out of his way to help us for example to order pizza for us and to help us booking tickets for Kuelap online. We ordered a taxi with him to get us around and the driver Ivan was wonderful in also giving us explanations and talking about Peru people in general (possible even with our limited knowledge of Spanish).
