I stopped locking my door the day after I arrived, once I realized how calm and peaceful it was. As a solo female traveler I value safety very much. Satori is located closer/deeper to the jungle so it is even calmer, and you can start your hike right at the gate. Sometimes monkeys would come to the site and I could watch them while having my breakfast/lunch. Secondly, I was amazed by the owner, a true animal lover and sustainability enthusiast. They handled everything themselves—gardening, improving the land, and preparing delicious breakfasts. Communication was easy. From the moment I made the booking, they provided a ton of useful information—like the boat schedule and more. I asked, and they arranged boat tickets and guided tours for me. Keep in mind, I don’t speak any Spanish! By the end of my stay, it felt like I was saying goodbye to a friend. Amazing people. The cabin was clean, equipped with a comfortable bed and mosquito net, fan, shelves and electrical outlets. When I wasn't hiking or touring, I enjoyed relaxing in my hammock outside the cabin. They also have decent Wi-Fi. There was a road construction down the road (village part), so I needed to detour (around 5 min walk). It should be gone in a month or so.
