When you arrive, you may be directly surprised by the authenticity of the place. Here, you are between sea and jungle. You arrive in a picturesque village of about 30 villagers, stretching over less than a kilometer, with pretty traditional houses. The village is quiet, with only the sounds of the jungle, the calls to prayer, a few scooters passing by, and the laughter of the inhabitants. In Indonesia, people laugh a lot when speaking. That might surprise you! A little lost at first, since we hadn’t researched much about our destination (I had just read a review saying “total immersion in an Indonesian village”), the absence of our host when we arrived (only 10 minutes late but no answer on the phone because… no battery 😉) worried my partner. Then he appeared: Anda, cigarette in hand, beret, backpack, a smile and a reassuring handshake. “Come, come!” Yes, this is the place.
