Boasting an outdoor swimming pool, free BBQ facilities and a free airport shuttle, Saltbush Retreat is a 3 minutes’ drive from Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Qantas Founders Museum. Saltbush was a wonderful place to stay. The slab hut I stayed in had a lot of character and unique and was very comfortable. Location to town very convenient although guests I met or staff often offered a lift to/from town. Longreach has been a bucket list visit for some time and certainly did not disappoint.

Rob helped us when he noticed that we had a flat tyre. The room was nice and clean. Enjoyed the location close to the beach and park. Perfect for a long walk. Nice, modern design of the houses and the property. Easy to communicate with the staff even though we arrived very late.

The eco-luxe pavilion we stayed in was well-designed, clean and close to the amenities such as restaurants, Madja, Kulki boardwalks, and Thornton’s Beach lookout. In the evening, we also enjoyed sitting on the day-bed at the verandah, observing the sights and sounds of the floral and fauna of the Daintree Rainforest. Lilian and Kim were excellent hosts — hospitable, warm and friendly.
