Our stay at this hotel was a tranquil retreat, especially considering it wasn't peak season, and we were the only guests. The breakfast was simple but tasty, and the guides were awesome. If we had more time, we would've totally gone into the jungle for a two-day adventure. The staff was super friendly, and we loved being surrounded by nature. We even got to watch langurs up close by the riverbank, making our stay extra special. Overall, it was a laid-back and memorable experience.

They arrange everything so well and take such good care of you, from the airport to your stay at the Garden Inn and especially during the jungle trekking. We did the two days one night trekking with Jerry, Rudy & Abdi. The guides are very funny, knowledgeable about everything and Abdi’s food was amazing! The trekking was tough but we had so much fun and saw many orangutans and other animals. Unforgettable experience and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Indonesia! After the trekking we spent another night at the Garden Inn and did the village tour with Pindu, perfect way to learn more about the local community! He also let us make our own tempeh and gado gado, which was a lot of fun. If you are planning to visit Bukit Lawang, we would recommend to book everything with the Garden Inn team. We were treated like family at on the rocks, wawan and his team were so helpful and friendly that we instantly felt at home. I cannot recommend staying here enough. We did multiple treks with Wong and he was wonderful, so much information to share but also never even felt like he was a guide. Treks can be suited for your fitness level but you are almost guaranteed to see orangutans no matter where you go. The restaurant was also delicious.

I stayed in one of the cabins and enjoyed the cleanliness, the hot water in the shower, the excellent WiFi, the exceptional view from the back porch, and the incredible hospitality of the whole family.
