First, our host Dzumi was wonderful! He was so kind, great to talk to and made us a delicious dinner after arriving. This place is simple, a great place to rest after a big hike. It opened recently, and is clean and modern. We loved the cottage feel with all the wood around us! The dinner choices - chicken curry and bamboo steamers were both so delicious. Breakfast buffet had a wide variety of foods and gave the option of making a sandwich for the day ahead. It had everything we needed for a quick stop. It’s also right across the river from a cafe and bar - the first place we saw after completing the Ogamotori-goe. Simple, but delightful and full of friendly staff.

秋桜館Cosmos está en el centro de Kioto, a 1,9 km de Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall y a 2,5 km de Castillo Nijō, y ofrece wifi gratis, jardín y aire acondicionado. Alojamiento muy bonito muy bien cuidado y con todo lo que uno necesita en una casa. Su anfitriona Lena nos recibió con mucho cariño y nos explicó todo . Tiene un libro con todas las explicaciones de cosas para poder moverte por Kioto . Lo recomiendo si vas a Kioto.

We had the whole place to ourselves, and the village is incredibly peaceful—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The common areas are great and easy to use, adding to the comfort. Excellent value for the price. Highly recommended!

至の宿-京都南 Traditional Machiya Guesthouse es un alojamiento con wifi gratis y vistas al jardín que se encuentra en una zona céntrica de Kioto, a solo 13 min a pie de TKP Garden City Kyoto y a 1,5 km de... La ubicación, zona muy tranquila. La casa estaba muy limpia, y nos encantó el ofuro.

The house is very clean and spacious.the view is amazing.the staff is so very helpful and even provide laundry service.my family had an episode of getting drenched from head to toe from getting caught in heavy rain but they helped us do the laundry and we used the furnace to dry our drenched shoes and coats.the skylight is also a highlight as we slept under the moonlight.highly recommended.there's not enough stars to give for their exceptional hospitality.the facilities are complete with all kitchen equipments,towels, cleaning products,they will also provide food if you need.

Taraichitei es un alojamiento con jardín que se encuentra en Takashima, a 28 km de Santuario Kehi Jingu, a 34 km de Playa de Omimaiko y a 40 km de Estación de tren de Obama. It is an old style house, so as long as you aren't expecting Western/modern comforts, it's fantastic! My daughter called it the Totoro house. You will sleep on Japanese futons that you lay out on the tatami mats - if you've never slept on a futon it might feel uncomfortable/hard compared to Western beds. You will eat sitting on the tatami mats, but there are a couple of small Western chairs if sitting on the floor is difficut. The bathroom is Japanese style with the toilet in one section, the sink/vanity in a second section and the shower with separate furo (deep bathtub for soaking after washing in the shower) in the third section. It was not the most modern but all clean and more spacious than the Western hotel bathrooms we had other parts of Japan! There is a TV, wifi worked great and a bluetooth speaker to play music. There aren't a lot of "tourist" attractions nearby but it you want serenity this hits the spot - a few steps away has you walking among farming fields and the house is also close to the forest with a little stream running along side the road making for a peaceful but easy walk up the mountain. The gohan (rice) cooked in the old style stove was the best we ate our entire trip! Wish we had bought some of the local rice. It can get a little smoky when dinner is being cooked but my mild asthma was fine. The host, Hiro, is amazing, super accomodating and friendly, he introduced us to his shiba inu (dog) and his duck, and even though we didn't ask ahead, he prepped for us to make tofu - this experience was an extra fee but totally worth it! During the winter you can also request mochitsuki (pounding rice into mochi) and summer/fall you can make noodles (can't remember if he said soba, ramen or udon). Hiro's English is limited, but he's so engaging, we asked him to eat dinner with us and my daughter loved that...he has such good energy!
