It’s run by a lovely couple and their young son. They are so hospitable and friendly. The lodge is set in idyllic location by a waterfall v peaceful in nature. There are only 3 rooms which are immaculate and have all amenities. The food is amazing breakfast and dinner so healthy plentiful and so v tasty. They arrange all treks and trips so everything is easy even the leech socks. We did a day rain forest trek and half day village waterfall and temple trip seeing all the rural village life. Definitely recommend and hope to return some day

The Whitegates Lodge се намира в Weligama, област Матара, в близост до плажовете Midigama и Ahangama. Simple but really nice room, kitchen available for use which is super convenient. Really nice garden as an outdoor area with chairs. Good location as just across a busy road, there is a really nice and quiet beach, suitable for swimming with a very chill little beach restaurant. Ideally, one needs transportation (tuktuks and buses are available) as this location is in between Midigama and Ahangama.

Food was fresh and tasty. The lovely host Karina is very accommodating and can organise anything for you from transportation to tours. The river freshwater pool is very refreshing after a hike or trek in the forest.

Amazing view, amazing sounds of nsture. You will see peacocks, squirrels, monkeys and more just by sitting outside and enjoying the nature. When it rains it’s especially otherworldly
