Offering garden views, Doany Beach in Antafondro offers accommodation, a garden, a private beach area, a terrace, a restaurant and a bar. Complimentary WiFi is offered throughout the property. Wonderful small hotel/guesthouse on a remote beach in Nosy Be. Transport from the airport involved both car and boat. We were a group of three, with my spouse, myself, and my 20 year old daughter. Our room and the grounds were absolutely beautiful, with traditional thatch roofs on many of the structures, and both covered and uncovered outdoor common spaces to have meals and relax by the ocean. There was a local band of lemurs. There was a beautiful stretch of pebbly beach with the huge tide shifts common in the area and amazing sunrise views. We ate all meals at the hotel, which featured local ingredients and seafood. The young chef checked in on diet preferences. We arranged all activities directly with Jean Michel, including a boat transport and guided walk in the Lokobe Nature Reserve (where we saw several different types of lemurs, chameleons and frogs, and a boa!), and a boat trip to Nosy Tanikely to snorkel a beautiful, living reef and walk up to the lighthouse on the top of the island.

We had such a lovely stay at Tamarin Lodge. The location of the bungalows is fantastic, being walking distance to some local restaurants and the local market. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Special mention must be made of how beautiful and lush the garden area is and if you’re lucky you’ll spot some lemurs in the trees above. At all times you feel connected to your environment, the structure of the properties brings the outside in in such an elegant way. The massage above the rocky shore was blissful, the staff were delightful.

We were the only ones as it was low season and they were super accommodating. It was very peaceful, just what we needed. The staff was amazing, the bed was comfortable, and the views!!!! Simply wow. The only thing missing was a beach but everything else more than made up for it! They even managed to make a last minute cake for my birthday 🥹
