We liked being out of the cities, with a helpful family, very convenient parking, private bathroom, variety of furniture, use of their swimming pool & patio, private mini-fridge, optional morning tea with host, and modern & fresh accommodations. Wonderfully quiet site and serene landscape & neighbors. We ought to have planned longer here.

Situated 1.1 km from Chelem Beach, Cabanas Jaalkab offers free bikes, an outdoor swimming pool and air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. The cabins were amazing and really comfortable! They are spacious, clean, and well equipped. The bed is comfy and the net does protect you from any mosquitoes which might have gotten into the room, although I didn’t see any inside (there were many outside, but repellent kept them at bay). The staff was friendly and ready to help, and they lent us beach chairs and an umbrella to use at the beach. The pool was slightly cold, but still quite pleasant and clean! The Wi-Fi works perfectly well for working remotely, and there are sufficient power outlets inside and outside the cabins. On the TV there is Netflix and other streaming platforms. There is also a temazcal (traditional sauna) which works on scheduled days and can seat large groups. There is no kitchen inside the cabins, but there is a fridge to keep food fresh, and there is a shared kitchenette with an electric stove, near the site’s entrance, and the staff can lend you a pan to cook a quick meal. Hot coffee is prepared and served for free twice a day. There is sufficient, safe, and convenient parking space for all guests, and the staff lends you a little trolley so your luggage can be carried around easily to your cabin without getting soiled with sand. I would definitely recommend it to any traveller, and I will surely come back with my family one day! The property has one pet-friendly cabin only, so if you are coming with your pet it’s worth booking and letting them know in advance.

The host is very friendly, speaks English well, and has two adorable dogs.

I loved everything about the accommodation and the property. It is very close to the village of Ek Balam and the ruins are only a short drive away. This is the way to immerse yourself fully into the experience!! The land was beautiful and well-kept and also sacred. The cabana was built with precision and Don Arturo has exquisite taste down to every last detail. Don Arturo was a gracious host and I left feeling peaceful and revived!!
