We had a wonderful experience staying at Casa de Mario. The location is perfect, right on the hiking trail to Gocta waterfall, with a beautiful view of the falls from the property. The village is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature. Mario is an exceptional host — he knows everything about the area and made us feel completely at home. He even made us a delicious homemade pizza with a purple corn crust — everything organic and full of flavor. We saw hummingbirds in the garden and many other beautiful birds around the property. It’s a great spot for bird lovers and nature lovers in general. If you’re coming to Cocachimba, don’t hesitate — Casa de Mario is the perfect place to stay!

With mountain views, Mamaq Tambo Lodge is set in Cocachimba and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. We loved everything in the lodge: the tastefully decorated and recently built Cabanas, with huge bathroom, super comfy beds and cute terrace with view on the Gocta cascade, set in a stunning well-kept garden. We could not use the natural water pool as we were in winter season, but it looked very inviting. The staff all from the local village is very friendly and they served one of the best breakfast in Perú.

Goctalab was our first stay on our northern Peru trip and it was truly an amazing place to jump start our travels. Sirgigo and Gianna are amazing hosts and the property is absolutely beautiful. The room was so comfortable and the view is epic. We ended up eating both dinners at GoctaLab and they were both amazing, with local flavors and excellent portions after long days of hiking!
