Sophie (owner of the lodge who also runs it) was very helpful and an amazing host, nothing was a hassle for her. She organised for us last minute an amazing tour, which everyone else seemed to say no to. It was the best tour we’ve been on in a long time! Dinner is on a long table which makes it a nice family style. There are bikes for guests to use and paddle/kayaks all complimentary which was very nice. The beach in front of the lodge is small and we had it all to ourselves (everyone was out on excursions) which made it feel like we were in our own private little area. Thank you for the experience you have created for us!

A trip to French Polynesia, specifically to Rangiroa, was the trip of a lifetime for me. I had studied and researched it dozens of times before departure. I found this property on Google Maps, though information was scarce. I chose it primarily for its location - close to the ocean and not far from Tiputa Pass. I found paradise. And I wasn't expecting it. Paradise is, first and foremost, the family that hosted me: Christian and his wife. Two exceptional people - kind, welcoming, but never intrusive. They opened recently and are pouring all their energy and savings into growing this property. Currently 5 rooms right on the lagoon, with a private beach adjacent to the famous Kia Ora hotel. See my attached photos. Please note: the room is simple, Polynesian-style. If you want five-star luxury, this is NOT the place for you. But it has everything you need and more - air conditioning (extremely rare in lodges), microwave, fresh drinking water, refrigerator, etc. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom simple but functional with hot water available 24/7. With only 5 rooms, it's likely difficult to find availability. In my opinion, write directly to Christian - I think he'll help you book. On Sundays in Rangiroa, everything is closed - supermarkets, restaurants. I didn't know this. I asked the owners for advice. Shortly after, they appeared with a tray containing a wonderful two-course lunch. I had to insist on contributing to the cost. Rangiroa is wonderful. But it's thanks to Hinamoe Lodge that it became a dream.

The reception was warm and caring. When I left the lady who dropped me off to the airport gave me a flower necklace and I felt warm with this gift. The support in terms of tips and care was exceptional. They even have bikes available to use, which was my transport in the island. The place is ideal for solo traveler or a couple, is a studio with all you need and everything clean and modern.There are close restaurants and market but the beach is a bit faraway to go by bike.

The hosts went out of their way to make us welcome, even giving us a free lift into town on our first night to buy groceries and to show us the nurse sharks at the marina. The bungalow is very well set up, newly rennovated and very clean. The bed is large and comfortable and the large indoor/outdoor shower is amazing! It was also great to be able to use the bikes and snorkle gear while we were there, and there are some excellent restaurants close by with stunning sunset views over the atoll lagoon.

Gorgeous atoll experience, laguna side, very tastefully decorated coast house right on private beach. Like overwater. Swimming, even some snorkeling right at doorstep. Crisp cleanliness, fully loaded fridge (consider it brekky included), even rice for cooking. Sunbeds, bikes (though ocean winds not supporting longer tours on single road). Dolphin watching in Tiputa Pass 8 mins on foot. Two small eateries open for lunch, dinner (until 9pm), small shop opens early but runs out of bread quick and sells no cane or rye. Nothing open on Sunday! Local diving club provides no snorkel tours to the nearby Aquarium site, contact DéDé Excursion (see Gmaps ) instead in advance for that (we checked with them late, unfortunately). Hosts are nice, even received suprises! Payment w/card an asset. Be aware that Vodacard SIM not working neither on Rangiroa nor Fakarava - choose else.
