I like all - from meeting of kind owner, little, but important details in the bathroom, (like teeth brush of bamboo,), we could find all equipments in kitchen, supper breakfast, when even croissant🥐 and bread were warm. I like a lot friendly to health dishes 🫙( i mean bottles from glass to keep milk, jam and butter, i usually use just such, it was perfect!!! ), very good wine, i think it was from local grapes🍇, even virgin olive oil🫒, which owners gave to us to do food. I adored to stay in this cute rustic cottage , soo nice view from little yard to mountains, birds singing in mornings and it was so great to eat in the yard, to smell roses, to enjoy views of mountains, to see sunsets. The village was fantastic, some old houses were from stones too, around olives trees and we could hear romantic church bells. Nearby a village you can find very nice mountain river with stone bridge. Around silence of nature, soooo calm and fantastic, obrigado, superr, adore..It was really great my birthday journey to mountains. 💜💚

The area, the village, and the hotel. Village people are very friendly. The hotel has exceptionaly nice facilities including a kitchen you can use and lovely common areas. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a spacious common terrace. And the place is pet friendly! Every thing is super clean. A real gem.

It is in an idyllic setting where all you can hear is the birds singing. Sue (and Mr Magee the dog) were fantastic hosts, who catered to our every need, and more. The breakfast was superb, fresh fruit and pastries and the coffee wonderful. Fresh orange juice from the trees. Sue showed us around her beautiful property including the well and identified places for us to visit. We have had such a quiet, relaxed and very comfortable few days at the cottage in the lake. We will come again. Thank you Sue for being a beautiful host. You have a wonderful place 😊

We arrived at the tiny but beautiful village on a cold and rainy day. After snuggling in and heating our little house, Adelina came by and offered to make us supper. She made us a great supper and we enjoyed every minute of her and her husband's company. We used Google translate to our good advantage. Enjoyed the supper she made in the local community building and watched some football with the locals. We were supposed to spend the next night in nearby Piodao but scrapped that for an extra night in Porto due to the cold weather. We did visit Piodao and found it to be overly commercial where as Arganil really seemed like the real deal.
