Excellent location, just in front of the beach, which is very important for Zanzibar, as you don't want to walk through local's houses to reach the beach, good breakfast, good coffee, staff was really friendly and was trying to help with anything.

After three nights, we really felt like it was our home away from home. The building is a wonder and itself worth the visit. Joyce and her team were so attentive, personable, and helpful and family-style meals were excellent. Utupoa sits directly on the beach and easily reachable by foot from the village of Matemwe. What a wonderful way for our family to get to know a corner of Zanzibar and to unwind from our adventures. Thank you, Joyce!

Zanzibar City is 37 km away. 5-nights stay in this perfect place to chill and relax, with plenty of options on the beach to hide in the shade from the cruel equatorial sun (beach beds, hammocks etc.). It was our choice to go lazy all the way, but perhaps next time (there's definitely going to be a next time) we're gonna take advantage of the kitesurf school next door or the excursions (ie. snorkeling trips) on offer - maybe it's also possible to take some fishing trip? Cocktails are great and all the food we had was super tasty (as I'm writing this, I'm drooling at the thought of those seafood soups). The staff is very attentive and warm.

A warm welcome with fresh coconut water beautifully decorated with a flower 👌. The room is perfect, and the ocean view is absolutely amazing and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful the food and drinks are always delicious 😋 . I highly recommend this place

With sea views, MONKEY MOUNTAIN LODGE is situated in Mtende and has a restaurant, luggage storage space, bar, garden and terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. I have been to many accommodations in Zanzibar, but this one was truly the most special experience for me. The peace and positive vibes I experienced there brought back 5 years of my life. The house is in a wonderful location, surrounded by dense vegetation, so you will feel a healing peace there during your entire stay. The bungalows are spacious and perfectly clean, the beds are large and comfortable, the view is stunning. The food deserves a Michelin star, the offer is varied, the ingredients are fresh every day, the portions are very generous, certainly above the price. The owner and all the staff are very accommodating, kind and ready to dedicate themselves to each guest to make them feel at home. My special thanks go to the hostess Suzy , whose helpfulness and kindness go beyond the limit and who made our stay even more beautiful. If you are planning to visit Zanzibar, do not make the mistake of not visiting this special piece of paradise. Thank you all, even though we left, a piece of my heart remained there 💓
