Everything was great about the property, from the Staff, to the rooms, which beautifully decorated. The food, beach front access, a chic boutique! The outside seating area at the room I stayed in along with an area to clean off your feet before you went into your room. It was a truly beautiful property and amazing experience.

The view to The Rock Restaurant is beautiful and around are many small boutique places and cafés. From here you can take a small boat to see the starfishes or go to Blue Lagoon. We saw dolphins in the sea very close to the shore! You can also walk to nearby cafes and small hotels. Having a car is recommended. The beach here is quiet: no sellers, no dancers and no people offering services. Nothing disturbs your rest. The owner is a warm and kind person that you feel like home. This is the real Zanzibar not like chain hotels. The place has its own vibe and soul. It is definitely not for people who want very luxury hotels with shiny things because everything here is very natural and simple. It is for those who want to feel the real local life. We already know that will want to come back.

Utupoa was the best choice for the second 6 days of our stay in Zanzibar, it exceeded all our expectations. The location is perfect, quiet, right on the beach, on a great stretch of beach. The atmosphere of the building itself and the common areas is breathtaking, there is something interesting to see on every square centimeter, it gives a very special experience. Our room was clean and spacious. The food is excellent, and the shared dinners create opportunities to connect with others. I will never forget the kindness of Joyce and Maria, their positive attitude towards people left a deep impression on me. The staff is outstanding. They are kind, helpful in everything. We are grateful for the time we spent there, it was wonderful. I would like to return to this enchanted place one day.

I stayed at Z Lodge Zanzibar with my wife. The room was so beautiful, I loved the flowers on the bed and the artwork on the wall; everything was lovely. The breakfasts were perfectly tropical and the restaurant itself had an amazing romantic vibe. Snack of our day was freshly made Banana chips with avocado dip- delicious. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, making you feel at home. I highly recommend this hotel.

The private plunge pool was a highlight—perfect for relaxing at any time of day while feeling completely immersed in the natural surroundings.

I will always keep this place in my heart. 3 nights here released 2 years of stress on my shoulders. Serenity, astonishing views, jungles, animals, sunrises, sunsets, amazing food. The bungalow is spacious, spotlessly clean, brand new, where luxury meets rustic and bonds you with nature. Watching monkeys playing on baobab branches from the terrace of our bungalow was just mind-blowing. Mtende beach is like from sci-fi movies, just unbelievable, one of the most memorable and remarkable places I’ve visited on this planet. All this is possible thanks to the hospitality of Jeff and Suzi, who went above and beyond to provide the best experience of our stay in Zanzibar. We stayed on 6 beaches in Zanzibar, 9 accommodations, and this was the best place.
