Boasting an infinity pool and views of lake, Sasi Africa Luxury Tented Bush Lodge is a recently renovated luxury tent set in Bergville, 34 km from Kaalvoet Vrou Statue. The staff! Everyone we met was friendly and eager to make our 2 nights memorable. The room was incredible and is among the nicest I’ve had while in Africa. It’s right up there with the top lodges in game reserves. They had no issue bringing you down to the parking area anytime we wanted to leave and they were always available to pick you up upon returning. The pool and bar area were great to relax around in the afternoons and the quaint living and dining room was comfortable to spend time in during the evenings before dinner.

Offering a garden and garden view, Highbourne Cottages is situated in Winterton, 10 km from Monks Cowl Country Club and 34 km from Winterton Museum. We stayed at Protea Cottage, which is well-equipped and comfortable. It's located at the end of the R600, near the entrance to Monk's Cowl area of the Drakensberg. You can access many nice trails directly from the cottage. The view from the porch is glorious, especially at sunset. Cathkin Park is a great location, and we easily filled our 6 days there. We went ziplining, hiking, swimming in the streams, horseback riding at uShaka, and saw the Falcon Ridge Bird of Prey show. We unfortunately missed whitewater rafting and the Boys Choir show. Leslie communicated thoroughly ahead of time about check-in and other details so there were no surprises. We also loved that it was off the grid, but with the solar panels, who noticed? The kitchen had all the necessary items, including a camp toaster and a French press for coffee. Lindsey and Brett don't live on site, but they stopped by a couple of times, and they were friendly and helpful. Their caretakers were there daily and kept everything in good order.

Set on the banks of the Tugela River, 22 km north of Winterton, Tugela River Lodge features self-catering accommodation 13 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve and 22 km from Winterton Museum. We really enjoyed our time at Tugela River Lodge. There’s so many things to do within the property like kayak, mountain bike, trails, and little farm area. It’s very clean and the staff and owner are super friendly and always willing to assist. The farm stall has a lot of supplies, so if you forget anything you wouldn’t even need to drive out. Very pet friendly as well - everything we could do with our little mini dachshund. She loved her time there and the fenced off area is big and safe. The wood-fired tub is an amazing way to wind down. The view is amazing and Bheki always comes to help fire it up ahead of time. All in all a fantastic experience as a couple, and I’m sure it’d be lovely for a family and friends group too!

Riverbend Chalets (Gold Crown Resort) is set within the scenic Drakensberg Garden and boasts views of lush landscapes and the majestic Drakensberg Mountain Range. I love the fact that there is games inside the facility. And karaoke night was very entertaining and we very much enjoyed ourselves

Situated in Underberg in the KwaZulu-Natal region, Birches Cottage & the Willows Garden Room features accommodation with free private parking. Amazing nature around, great garden to chill and a lot to explore in the garden, the accomodation is very spacious and you have everything you need for cooking. Very warm hosts, we really enjoyed our time there and highly recommend it!We had a lovely time!
