Staying at this charming Manoir was like living in a fairytale for a night. The room, the lounge, the library , all were perfectly appointed in the best of taste and suited the 16th/17th century dwelling that we called our own for 20 hours. And the location! Sitting in the garden by the moat, gazing at that castle, while swans and ducks meandered around us and the lowering sun played upon the water… as I said, an absolute Fairytale. Our hosts Pascale and Christophe were delightful, and made our stay not only comfortable , but stimulating, with explanations of their artwork that filled the rooms. Without a doubt, the best Chambre d’hôtes we have ever stayed in!

The place is located on the outskirts of the forest, next to the road linking Lissieux and Livarot - both being interesting touristic magnets. There are many different accommodation possibilities; all of them provide opportunity both to relax on the spot or make some trips around (it's not even far from the seaside). The area is big, green and very tidy. Kids have ample amount of grass to play (+ some playground) close or far from parents - depending on the preferences. One can relax under sun or in the shade. There is charger for your electric car on the site, thus even more relaxation is possible. I can comment only on the accommodation option we were using - adapted circus wagon. This was lovely place, full of charm and surprises (the shower cabin is inside). Three people could manage this space with ease, yet one must remember circus wagon is not spacious. Small terrace allows for fantastic eating outside. Eating inside poses no problems. It is perfectly possible to cook own dishes, yet the space is very small, so individual perception may vary. As the sun is not shining directly at the wagon, it may be very comfortable during hot weather. Many heaters make sure it is good also for the cold times. I'm guessing here as we visited during temperate week and did not experiences neither heat nor cold. The host is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast served is amazing - especially when enjoyed on the terrace. Food quality is superb and the choice of fruit jams mind boggling. Luckily one can buy some on the spot as it is virtuality impossible to taste all of them.

A cute and calming property ideal for couples, solo travellers, or families if you are looking for tranquility and beautiful natural surroundings. On the property, you will find animals such as goats, sheep, donkeys, and even a hog that are easy and fun to interact with. There is a large pool and deck open to guests. Very clean, and the pool is heated! A volleyball court, boules court and quaint paths to stroll through. We were six days in a very clean cabin. The bathroom, kitchen (fully stocked with cutlery and utensils), and a small living room, which included a working fireplace with free wood, made up the ground floor. Upstairs were two bedrooms. The property is 2km from a fuel station and a large and very clean supermarket. Both are within 100 meters of one another. Four km away is a midsized town (Lisieux), which has an impressive basilica. Overall, it is an ideal location within reasonable distances to many sites and towns in Normandy. We thank our host for his gracious hospitality, who made us feel at home immediately on arrival. Wonderful place. Can't go wrong here.

From start to finish, the hosts made everything very easy for us, especially as we were travelling with our young daughter. There was a warm welcome to the property and a guided tour. The property was in perfect condition, with everything you could need and has a fantastic location. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

A beautiful little house beautifuly restored and presented and well equiped for the keen cook. Lovely views over fields and trees. Charming hosts who are most kind and helpful. We will return to this special place.
