Very nicely renovated old cottage close to town but rustic. Adorable friendly dogs and two peacocks. Lovely touches; with a nod to the fact that her property was formerly an equestrian center. Well equipped kitchen. Toiletries, dish soap, spices etc. provided. There is another larger house on the same property. We found that once the other guests checked into that property that our Wi-fi became more sporadic. We also lost hot water one day and when we contacted the owner to ask (she did not reach out to us) it turned out that the other guests has somehow turned off the hot water supply. No TV which is fine with us but may be a negative for some. The bathroom especially the shower would be a problem for a plus-size individual and the property is definitely not suitable if you’re mobility challenged. The owner is very friendly and laid back but available as needed. She provided the EIR code location (we had never heard of this, being from the US).

If your looking for a stunning place to stay with all the homely touches then this is the place! It’s absolutely beautiful the rooms are gorgeous and no details have been missed! The host was so friendly and helpful and we will absolutely be back x

Absolutely fabulous. Great setting only a few minutes from the N11 and a lot of things to do within 30 minutes of the place. Aidan was so welcoming and kind We were fortunate to be able to bring our dog Kerli with us and there are plenty of walks and beaches to visit along with the fields in the grounds. Aidan was able to recommend lots of dog friendly walks and cafes to visit as well.

I was looking for dog-friendly overnight accommodation prior to taking a ferry from Rosslare and honestly couldn’t have chosen a nicer place within an easy 25 minute drive from the port. Human host Pauline and doggy host Penny couldn’t have been more welcoming. Whilst Penny was showing my dog around her garden and adjacent dog walk, Pauline revived my flagging spirits with complimentary tea and her own delicious carrot cake in her sunny haven of a patio upon arrival. Guest rooms and common areas are most beautifully decorated and furnished with gorgeous antique gems; entirely relaxing and never overwhelming. Clearly, a lot of love has gone into creating our large, dog-friendly Garden Room which was a real home away from home. There was fabulous bed linen, superior tea and coffee making facilities (incl. ground coffee for a cafetière and Pukka herbal teas) and lots of personal attention to detail. Sustainability is important to Brookville’s hosts as evidenced by mineral water in glass, not plastic bottles, triple glazing and solar heated water. My large en-suite shower room had lots of complimentary toiletries and, again, much thought has gone into this: there were great towels, a make-up mirror, even cotton buds and pads, and much more. Both rooms were spotless and, at the end of a very warm day, neither too warm not too cold. Breakfast at Brookvale is optional but highly recommended because the hot and cold menus are extensive. Portions are generous and the food is yummy. My only regret was, that I couldn’t do justice to Pauline’s offerings, despite my best efforts. Emphasis is placed on local produce wherever possible and the tableware is beautiful. In summary, we had a lovely albeit short stay, in lovely surrounds, cared for by the perfect hosts. If I could rate Brookvale higher than 10, I would.

Beautiful location- warm friendly and welcoming owners, extremely attentive but let us get in with our stay with out intrusion- watched our girls play on swing set so we could unpack the car and the break was very much appreciated!!!
