Serviced apartments with a daytime reception. Nice and reasonably spacious apartments overlooking the river, nice balcony, nice evening views. The location is just about perfect - it's 2 minutes walk to the beginning of the riverside walk with its restaurants and food stalls, which stretches another 15-20 minutes walk all the way to the city centre. So you're close to all of that but in a more quiet spot. The huge restaurant next door wasn't really loud while I was there, and I never noticed any sound from the bar on the back side of the building.

Cute hotel in a great location close to the night market, great atmosphere! Very clean and lovely staff. Was concerned about the pool with reading other reviews but we found it to be clean and yes is at the front of the property but it is away from the street (which is only a side street anyway). Comfortable bed, great shower.

Room upgrade on arrival. Everything perfectly clean, staff very helpful and professional, great breakfast, fantastic pool. Good location, short walk into town and only one block from the promenade and all of the bars and restaurants. Next time I'm in Vientiane will definitely be staying at the Laotel, won't even bother looking at alternatives. Fantastic hotel.
