Helga's is just Wow! This was among the best accommodations I have ever had in my many travels. The level of attention to details is something I have rarely seen before. The friendliness and warmth of the hosts and staff is also amazing. We had dinner and breakfast and they were both delicious, freshly made, abundant and of great quality. House wine is definitely a must try, very good. The surroundings are also lovely and serene. The small village of Lin is an oasis of tranquility and relaxation and the beautiful Ohrid lake is the cherry on top. I highly recommend Helga's place for a stay near the Ohrid lake!

The hosting family is very polite and they welcomed us warmly. The breakfast is 100% made from local products and the flavours are very unique, cooked on the spot for us. We ate in the beautiful and full of flowers garden with breathtaking lake view. The lake view from the bedroom is amazing, the room is spacious and comfortable. The place is very clean, everywhere!! There is private parking.

Great town to spend a day and perhaps one night.

Great town to spend a day and perhaps one night. Fantastic lake and mountain views. Like stepping back in time. It's a way to visit the real Albania, with all its simple charms as well as flaws. Definitely not a fancy or Disneyland-type place. Has a few decent places for a lakefront meal or drink. Just walk around town to admire its authenticity and be sure to walk up to the rocky peninsula for the outstanding views (you'll likely see some sheep, donkeys and chickens long the way).

The walk over the promontory was good, a little hilly but...

The walk over the promontory was good, a little hilly but fine for any reasonably fit person. Good to see the ruins of the monastery and the mosaic, follow the red and white stripes. Then through the green gate to the end of the promontory where there is an old pill box with views across the Lake Orhid. Hotel Leza stocks a wheat beer more to our taste if you like ale. Lin is a pretty village one of the oldest inhabited in Europe.

Nice little village on the shore of Ohrid lake.

Nice little village on the shore of Ohrid lake. We stayed there 2 nights but we could have stayed 1 more night. There are some nice walks to do in the village. One along the coast and and another one uphill to reach a bunker dating from the communist regime. The place is convenient for those who need to catch a plane in Ohrid airport. Just make sure to leave in good time due to potential delays at the border between Albania and North Macedonia.

A wonderful, quiet place with what you would call "soft...

A wonderful, quiet place with what you would call "soft tourism" appeal. I do hope they keep the village like it is and don't make the same mistake as they have made in Ksamil (see my other evaluations).

Lin is a charming village nestled beside Lake Ohrid. The atmosphere is serene and welcoming, with friendly and genuinely hospitable residents. As you drive down the national road leading to Pogradec, the village of Lin appears below. This picturesque peninsula is home to hundreds of locals. As you approach, the vibrant red roofs of its quaint homes stand out. Notably, one of the oldest mosaics in the Eastern European region, dating back to the 4th century, is located here. Its detailed designs and beauty seamlessly complement the surrounding landscape!
