The hotel is on the main road, so from there you can get in different places if you want to explore the seaside The restaurant in the hotel was great, mainly fish and other seafood and a lot of pizza choices. You will not find such big portions and good prices in other restaurants if you go near the seaside. The staff was great and helpful. The bed and pillows were comfortable. TV was smart one so you can enjoy different channels or subscriptions. Breakfast was individual (due to out-of-season period), but it was great, accompanied by a lot of fruits. If you miss something, there is a grocery store in the basement, and you should not leave without trying ice creams and other desserts in the shop next to it. You can get them also in the restaurant since staff is willing to bring them there for you.

Disappointing Stay at Melia Durrës – Far Below Expectations We booked the Deluxe Frontal Sea View room, one of the best available in the hotel. While the view was beautiful and the room was spacious with nice furnishing, unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The most frustrating part of the stay was the pool area. You had to wake up at 6 AM just to find a sunbed and umbrella, even though the pool service officially started at 8:30 AM. After that time, the chances of finding anything available were close to zero. What kind of 5-star resort charges €400 per night but doesn’t guarantee poolside seating for its guests? On the first day, we didn’t manage to get a spot by the pool and walked to the beach instead. The beach was far from the hotel, around a 10-minute walk under 40°C heat, with no shuttle service offered. And when we got there, the sunbeds were old and dirty — nothing like what you’d expect from a luxury resort. There was no coffee machine in the room, and ordering a coffee came with an additional €30 room service fee — which is outrageous. There were two restaurants on-site. On our first night, we ordered a tomahawk steak which was by far the worst I’ve ever tasted — not fresh, poorly cooked, and with a bad smell. We didn’t eat it and informed the waitress, who spoke to us with a casual tone, as if we were friends, not guests. While they apologized and removed the steak from the table, they also removed everything else we had ordered (salads and starters), so in the end we paid only for the meat — which made no sense. We came to dine, not just save €20. The second restaurant, Cosa Nostra, was slightly better, but with a very limited menu. Breakfast was abundant but of mediocre quality — it reminded me of budget Turkish resorts from 10 years ago. The first night we couldn’t sleep because loud music was left playing under our room at the pool bar. No one was there, and despite calling reception multiple times, no one answered.
