My stay at Baleni was the best in my three week trip in Armenia! I was warmly greeted by Anna and her daughter and shown to my room upstairs – overlooking a luscious garden. The house is set back in a rustic neighborhood on the outskirts of town – a quiet oasis. In the evening I enjoyed a lovely tea with Anna, Vardan, their daughter, and Anna’s mother. Great conversation and laughter flowed. Both Anna and her husband work at the local university. They are both very knowledgeable about local and Armenian history, telling me stories about local lore and traditions and answering all of the specific questions I had about Sisian and the area. They were very respectful of space and quiet. The house was very clean and everything was comfortable. In the morning I was able to witness their routine of getting ready for school and work, as I enjoyed a plentiful breakfast of delicious Armenian foods from their garden and that Anna’s mother had made. My only wish is that I was able to stay longer with this lovely family – I hope to be back! If you are in Sisian, I recommend Baleni! It will be one of the highlights of your trip!

I usually do not write many sentences into the reviews, but this time I have to make an exception. We (me and my father) stayed 2 nights at Karin's place during our trip across Armenia and this was the stay were felt the strongest connection. Karin's house is super clean, spacious, quite, and with a beautiful garden the products of which we had for our breakfasts. She helped us to connect with a local guide Sasun, who we spent with a wonderful full day. He took us with his off-road car to Ughtasar to see petroglyphs. On the way to 3000+m we found amazing mushrooms that Karin prepared for us as an extra course to already delicious home made Armenian dinner. Sasun took us to see also other beautiful places of Sisian region - Shaki waterfalls, Aghitu memorial, Stonehenge, Vorotnavank monastery. I highly recommend to visit this region of Armenia and use services of both Karin and Sasun. These people have welcoming hearts, wants to share the best of their country with you and you will feel like home. Truly.

The place is amazing, with a forest nearby and a great view of the mountains. The huts are comfortable, featuring a cozy design and all the necessary amenities (right down to the toothbrush). Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The warm welcome and AMAZING attitude of the staff there is just something GREAT!!! They take care of you as a family member, and they don’t have the word “No” part of their conversation. They make everything possible. Went the extra mile to making a whole new menu just because of me and my friend since we only eat “Halal” food. A HUGE shoutout to Sarbuhi who was the best in this whole facility.
