Located in El Bolsón, 15 miles from Cerro Perito Moreno – El Bolsón (Laderas), Hostal del río has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a bar and a private beach area. Lara, her Partner and her family were super friendly! We had a nice little breakfast with good coffee in the morning. If we got hungry later on, we had the option to order selfmade Pizza or Empanadas wich were very tasty. Also we could get some very tasty craft beer from the region. In the kitchen was a water tank where you could get drinkable water for free anytime, but also the tap water comes already with drink water quality! The hostel itself is very cozy, with trees, bbq place, hammock, varios opportunities to sit and the location just at the cristal clear water stream (were you also can go for a swim) made it a unforgettable experience for my partner and me! :) There is a bus stop near by but unfortunately it is only coming a couple times a day. Therefore you can easily call a friendly driver who's familiar with the hostel and he will drive you. We can very recommend this hostel and we would love to stay another time there! Kind regards Martin & Fernanda

El Bolsón is a quiet and beautiful place with dry, calm climate. For Patagonia, there is very little wind. The access to La Reserva Rio Azul for trekking is simple and there are many refugios (staffed huts) in the mountains to make camping easy. Also close to the national park, Los Alerces, and Bariloche/the lakes region, but quieter and less expensive.
Beautiful hiking in the area, great craft/food market, excellent store for hiking food (El Molino.) Cheap food and drink. Warning: Bring plenty of Argentinean pesos to El Bolson! It was not like most other tourist towns; changing money was very challenging (Banco Nacional is only open 8-1, and lines are extremely long.)
The place has a nice atmosphere with plenty of young and old artisan people selling there products. Nice bars with local music Being played also in the streets. If you can speak Spanish then you would have a great time.
If you love hiking, markets or relaxing then this is the place! It’s easy to get around, visit the local markets on Tue, Thur and Sat - everything must be handmade and you will find some treasures! The ice cream is great - ask the staff their favourites and you can’t go wrong. The hike to Cerro Piltriquitrón is worth it for the views but if you’re not up for a full day then there are some lookouts just a short walk from town like View Cascada and Mirador Amigo which has a nice wooden platform/deck to view the sunset from.
Awesome market some days of the week. Local farms produce great fruit and ace beers. Local hikes average but if you get bus to places further out or stay at refuges up in the mountains looks stunning.
Argentinos typically don't do much for breakfast, and the homemade bread, marmalade, and coffee were good and were typical for Argentina. If you don't expect a large American-style breakfast, you won't be disappointed. The staff are friendly and helpful. The property is located in a quiet area a couple of miles outside the bustling, noisy part of El Bolsón.
La casa del viajero summarize the essence of el Bolsón. I was travelling alone followed by Booking comments and had no doubts to extend my stay for few days. Tomás is a great host, they organise random asados with other guests, and it is perfect location to enjoy the slow-motion athmopshere of the town and do some trekkings within the mountains around.
This was a gorgeous setting for our stay in el bolson, the property is full of flowers and fruit trees. Andrea and Alex were so friendly and made us the most wonderful breakfast. We only wished we could stay longer!
Cabañas with plenty of room with good heating system for cold nights. Place well located near El Bolsón town. Adriana is very friendly and will help you with all your needs.
Everything was fantastic! The lodge is great and cozy! The staff is great, super welcoming and friendly! I would recommend everyone that stops in El Bolson to stay here :)
A great place to stay only a (cheap) taxi ride out of town. Great grounds to relax in too. El Bolson is a lively little town - especially when the artisan fair is on.
the lady running the hostel , total different vibe than any other hostel i did so far in argentina. it was like one big family, thanks to the host haby :)
great opportunity to not be in another hotel room on our holiday in partagonia
