Unfortunately, the worse property I ever stayed at. It almost turns into a joke where even the staff laughs with you.
1. 5 mins after reservation is made they text me saying they will change me to a different hotel because my room has a problem. Lesser $ but did not offer to pay me difference.
2. Then they go back on their text and say that they have now fixed the problem.
3. I arrive and they say I need to pay $40usd more for “a view”. We had already booked with a view.
4. They then proceed to give me key to an occupied room so I barge in on a couple.
5. They then give me a room with no view.
6. I had to spend the night there even though I had Just been charged 40 for a view.
7. Next morning I get a room w a view and as I am closing door, the handle completely falls off. Now I cannot even close the place. But I can open.
8. Wash hands and faucet falls off.
9. Turn lights on and outlet falls off.
10. Elevator gets stuck and clearly needs maintenance. Every time it stops it feels it is about to break and free fall.
11. I was nice and asked booking to help me get some sort of discount or rebate or maybe a free night since I had booked for 6 total.
I got nothing. They said the owner has 7 hotels. I would suggest he closes one or two in order to improve quality.
The view was nice and the staff at the hotel but management is clearly only interested in making money even if it’s by tricking people into booking from a long distance.
The hotel is in no condition to be operating. The elevator I am afraid is days from causing a death.
I would not recommend this place at all and hopefully someone will do something about it.

San Carlos de Bariloche is located on the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake and surrounded by the magnificent Nahuel Huapi National Park. Perched among 2000-metre high mountains, the town is one of the biggest winter sports resorts in South America. It is the Argentinean capital of artisan chocolate, and mixes Central European influence with native traditions.
Originally populated by different native tribes, the modern settlement grew in the last decades of the 19th century around the shop of the German immigrant Carlos Wiederhold. Its development reached a peak in the 1930s, with the completion of the railroad, the creation of the national park, and the construction of several emblematic buildings. The Civic Centre and the Neo-Gothic cathedral, as well as some famous Bariloche hotels were built to resemble a Swiss village.
The city is one of the most popular destinations in Argentina and a gateway to Patagonia. Hotels, luxury resorts, guest houses, B&Bs and hostels, are part of Bariloche’s large range of accommodation. It has famous ski stations like Mount Catedral, and is also the traditional destination for students in their last year of secondary school.
A 2-hour flight from Buenos Aires to Bariloche Airport is the quickest way to reach the town. If you’re planning a trip to Patagonia, don’t miss the Bariloche hotel deals available on Booking.com!
Good value restaurants
Impossible to change money at airport and to change money in the town. After 3 hours of trying banks, cambios and hotels we had to use the people hustling you to change money on the street which was very daunting.

Great tours of lakes and historic monuments, hotel. My sons enjoyed skiing at Cerró Caredral. The natural beauty of Bariloche is stunning. We visited in winter, would love to try it in the spring or summer.

It's one of the adventure capitals of South America, with loads to do - hike, visit lakes and waterfalls, ski and snowboard!
There a wide variety of restaurants - I'd recommend going either early or late to get a table quick enough.
The bus system works well once you work out your SUBE card.

It is a very picturesque area, but unfortuately we only had about 1/2 a day of good weather while we were there. We drove the Rue de Sieta Lagos but had to turn around halfway there due to encountering snow. The rest of our stay was very rainy and cold. It was fall, but was told that it was extremely early to be having snow. The town is cute but can be fully taken in in a couple hours or so. There was way more we could have done if the weather had been nicer.

the amazing views, their breakfast room, they had the best sushi restaurant with inside or outside sitting area overlooking lakes, mountains and award winning sushi.
getting around was easy we had our own rental car and visited other towns. I would avoid booking the type of room in the old part of the Hotel, they have a new and better section. they do have a well train staff that offers area tours, we drove to different areas ,visiting Cerro Tronador,Villa Angostura,Circuito chico, having more time to enjoy the views. Roads are safe to drive.

THIS IS A FANTASTIC HOTEL, IN A PERFECT LOCATION. WITH ONE CRITICAL FAILIURE, AND THIS IS THE BREAKFAST. HOW SUCH A HOTEL CAN SERVE ROTTEN OR UNRIPE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, THAT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS COLLECTED FROM THE GARBAGE !
AND THE LADY IN CHARGE WAS NOT READY TO PREPARE FOR US ON DAY OF DEPARTURE AN EARLY BRAKFAST FO GO, A THING WE DID NOT COME ACROSS IN ANY OF THE HOTELS WE STAYED IN ARGENTINA.
THE FOOD SERVICE IS THE MAIN BUT GREAT DISADVANTAGE OF THIS SPLENDID HOTEL, AND MUST BE IMPROVED.
everything!
- wonderful maisonette / tiny house in a quiet area but 300m from the Melipal beach / main costal road to catch the bus to the west.
- very friendly host
- very well equipped kitchen, the best so far in Argentina!
