The family-run Hotel Sonnhof is located on a small hill in the center of Rauris, 1640 feet from the Hochalmbahn Cable Car. It offers an indoor pool with sauna and a squash court. We spent a few days in the middle of summer at this hotel. It's situated at the outskirts of a small town, in a beautiful part of Austria. There are countless exciting daytrip opportunities, of which we could do only a few, but they were all memorable. The hotel itself is simple, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. And the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Located in the center of Rauris, just a 3-minute walk from the ski elevators in Rauris and next to the hiking trails, Frühstückshotel Birkenhof offers a spa area with Kneipp basins and massages. I visited Rauris (this time!) for photographing and experiencing traditionals customs and rituals of mid winter, particularly the "beek Prechten" and the parade on the day of Three Kings. Everything was superb, the prechten even visited the hotel - not for the tourists, but for the owner's family. Everyone in the hotel was very kind, the hotel is situated a few meters from the Rauris museum, beautiful room, very cosy and superclean. And fantastic breakfasts with lots of local food. SUPERB! Highly recomended!
Offering panoramic views of the Hohe Tauern mountain range, the Hotel-Garni Kaiserhof in Rauris is 984 feet away from the ski bus stop. All rooms have a balcony. Edi, the owner was super nice. We were a large group, adults and children. We made full use of the common areas and the darts bar in the basement. The buffet breakfast was good! The Rauris ski lift was 5 min by foot! We went for new year's and we had a wonderful time! Thank you, Edi!
Surrounded by a 13123 ft² garden and the Hohe Tauern National Park, the family-run Hotel Alpina features indoor and outdoor pools, a playground, a sauna and gym. Recently refurbished and lovely for it too. We had a large room with 2 balcony’s which was spotless and very comfortable. Staff and owners were very welcoming and friendly and would help with anything. Breakfasts were great with a good choice of hot and cold dishes, eggs, cereals, cakes, cheese etc and great quality. Good parking at the hotel too. The pool and spa areas were very clean and comfortable. Would recommend and return.
Appartementhaus Renate offers newly renovated apartments in a quiet location in the center of Rauris, and free Wi-Fi access. Shops, restaurants and ski schools are only a few steps away. Comfortable and spacious apartment in the middle of Rauris. Very well equipped. Our host was very kind.
Boasting free WiFi and free private parking, Rauris’ Rainberghof offers guests studios or apartments that have a balcony with garden or mountain views. The host was very helpful and kind. The room was perfectly clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Easily accessible - located at the beginning of the main street but fortunately not in the center so it has great views of the mountains. There is a good grocery store and restaurant nearby. The Hochalmbahn is a good excursion destination which close, easily accessible on foot and it'sa good starting point for the nearby attractions (Rauriser Urquell, Rauriser Urwald,Kitzlochklamm, etc.).
Located in Rauris, 22 mi from Kaprun, Palfner features a garden and free WiFi. All units come with a seating area, a sofa bed, a flat-screen TV and a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment in the quiet village was big enough and comfortable for a family of 4. The kitchen was fully equipped even with an oven! We had all the amenities that we needed. The apartment is just 6mins drive to the Rauris ski lift. The supermarket was also close by. The host was most welcoming- doesn’t speak English but with a bit of German and google translate we managed the communication. We shall definitely return.

The chalet is completely new with a design providing confort, cosiness and perfect environment for holidays. The staff has been very efficient and friendly all along the stay answering all our needs. The access to lift is extremely simple even for our 8 years old child. Crossing the road is safe and walking distance to the lift and ski school is less than 5 minutes. We will surely come back.
We were in Rauris for a weekend in January 2020 with 1 year old baby. It was a very nice stay. I can recommend "Winter wandern weg" - great views. It was good even for us traveling with baby in Carrier. City is very calm but there are few restaurants and shops.
Rauris is a lovely village only 75 minutes from Salzburg Airport. It has reasonable skiing facilities, especially for children and beginners, but really comes into its own in the summer. It is a truly beautiful valley with lots of walks, both easy and more difficult, and lots of huts/cafes providing refreshment for walkers. You will not find a more beautiful valley in Austria! And Gusto, a restaurant in the village of Worth, five miles down the road, is simply outstanding.
Actually we chose Rauris as starting point for exploring other locations such as Bad Gastein, Zell am See, Gross Glockner alpine road and others. If you want to see the most interesting locations you need to travel anyway. Hotel Sonnhof in Rauris had good reviews and it was with good price. We purchased Salzburgerland cards for family and it was very good deal.
It is a perfect place for an active holiday.Hiking, biking, rafting etc, also possibility to enjoy the beauty surroundings ( mountains, lakes, valleys, peaks). I would not offer it for lazy people. You get a holiday card at the hotel what is useful to get discount at most of the attractions and free entrance in some case.
A small quiet town tucked away in the mountains with lots of very old houses, many date from 16th century. Friendly and polite locals. If you want bright lights and night life go to St Anton, but if you want a peaceful place with no queues for the lifts and gondolas it’s hard to beat Rauris. Also has the best ski school I have ever found so a perfect place to learn to ski.
Clean as a pin, very roomy, bountiful linens, and a beautiful view! Hosts were very accessible, quick to reply and kind - the clean, modern sauna was ready every day after returning from the slopes! Walks and driveway were shoveled multiple times/day. The hosts even helped my husband when our tire chain wrapped around the axel - jacked up the car, removed the wheel and repaired the broken tire chain - truly a life saver as it snowed all 5 days of our stay! The 10-15 minute drive to the slopes was lovely and easy (with chains :) - a quick stop to Billa upon our return and we were set for the night as the kitchen was spacious and well stocked with supplies, utensils, etc, making meals easy to prepare! Several good restaurants are also close by in Worth. I can only imagine how beautiful the view from this home must be in the spring and summer.

The owner was exceptionally helpful, and friendly. It was impeccably clean. Very safe, lovely little village, great parking.
