Offering views over the Southern Ocean and Blackwood River, Baywatch Manor Augusta is just 8 minutes' drive to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, 10 minutes’ drive to Jewel Cave and Hamlin Bay, and 20 minutes’... Everything. It was spotless and quite clearly there was pride in keeping it like that. It had space inside and out with easy walking distance and as a cyclist safe storage for bike. This place is excellent with a fantastic attitude fro staff and a willingness to help
Just a 9-minute drive from Jewel Cave, Augusta Escape Holiday Units offers self-contained apartments with a fully-equipped kitchen and garden views. Free parking is available. Very nice accommodation, the rooms are big enough for 5 people. Was very close to a famous fish and chips and Supermarket。The owner extended a very warm welcome to us and was very hospitable.
Located on a hillside just 1.9 mi from the Augusta town center, Sheoak Chalets are surrounded by the native trees of Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park. Endless rolling green fields right outside your window. The sound of cows mooing, sheep baaing and kookaburras laughing. The washing machine and self-contained kitchen. The walk in the woods, listening to the birds chirping and wildflower watching. Looking at the starry night canvas and studying the constellations.
We planned our stay around two days and organised three main activities - Lighthouse Tour, River Cruise and Jewel Cave Visit. In between we visited half a dozen historical sights and lookouts. We also fitted in a visit to the local (Excellent) Historical Museum. Could have added another day to do all properly. Highlight meals were in the Deckchair Cafe for Eggs and avocado for breakfast, and a handmade pizza cooked in an old school bus (Gustos). Very friendly town and exceptionally clean and tidy. Coastal scenery is spectacular. The Boat cruise offers a lot of bird watching opportunities together with some tag along Dolphins. Great way to spend an afternoon. Weather is changeable being right on the SW tip of the country. We had a mx of light drizzle, overcast and fun sun over three days. Scones and jam at the Lighthouse Cafe are worth a long drive,
We have been to Augusta many, many times. For the first timer, it is a jewel in the southwest for caves, coastal scenery, beautiful beaches, fishing and access to major wine region and magnificent forests. Augusta is a quiet village type town which has not been spoilt by over development.
Accommodation at Sapphire Gardens was excellent. Just out of town in peaceful, well designed and maintained. We were very happy with our choice. Augusta is also a very relaxing destination with plenty to see and do at the south-west corner of Australia.
Check out the Lighthouse, beaches, Hamelin Bay is beautiful. Caves are cool and good to visit. Dining in this town is good. recommend Hotel, fish and chip shop and especially the Augusta Moon chinese restaurant.
Lots to do from bush walking and mountain biking. It is located at the southern terminal of the Cape to Cape Trail going from Dunsborough to Augusta (around 135-150km, depending where you begin) You can do any water sports there, such as boating, kayaking, swimming, surfing, and, due to reliable winds: sailing, wind surfing and kite surfing. Augusta is a little friendly town with enough facilities to get by: IGA, 2 petrol stations, bakery, a few cafes, a pub, souvenir/jewellery shops etc. The natural surroundings are absolutely amazing - hills, bush, tall trees, rock formations, river, river mouth, bays and sandy beaches, surf and two different oceans. It is one of y favourite places in WA.
Friendly quiet town with plenty of places to eat, good selection of cafes, good for hiking and walking. Food at the pub well priced and great service. Recommend the river cruise. Graham is a local and his extensive knowledge of the area and river is impressive.
