Hotels near Barwon Downs

The park was absolutely beautiful. It was in a fantastic setting and the facilities and cabin amenities were modern, clean, well looked after and you can tell that the owners and/or the persons who care for the facility take pride in their work and strive to maintain the park to a consistent standard. We stayed at the end of May, it was very cold coming into winter, our split system in the cabin kept us adequately warm. The shower had plenty of hot water and the kitchenette facilities were more than enough for our needs. I would also like to compliment the staff - whilst we didn't personally see/interact with any staff during our stay as we were a late check in and a Sunday check out, when I called the day of my arrival to discuss the potential of having to bring my dogs at last minute due to my dogsitter being unavailable at short notice and as one of my dogs was recovering from surgery I was left with no alternative but to bring her. The staff who took my call ensured that this was of no fuss and were more apologetic that the 2-bedroom cabin I had didn't have a yard unlike the single bedroom cabins (I wouldn't have expected a yard anyway!). The staff advised there was a secure fenced off dog run though to let the dogs out as needed and my request was easily accommodated in a matter of minutes by just needing to add on a small additional cleaning fee. The cleaning charge ($25) for having a pet, in my case 2 x large greyhounds was more than reasonable and meant it was actually cheaper to bring my dogs than to have had them looked after by a pet sitter for 2 nights! My kids were thrilled to have their pets come on a family adventure and it gave me peace of mind.

Everything was exceptionnal. From the very friendly host who talked to us with passion about his farm and family history to the exceptionnal comfort and decoration via the beautiful nature surrounding the cottage,we enjoyed every moment!

Beautiful classic guesthouse, bed-and-breakfast environment. The bedrooms and beds were very comfortable and attractive. Very nice Continental breakfasts! Books to read, a movie room to watch DVDs and VHS. A room to play pool. Beautiful little gardens around the house. There was a hotel restaurant in “town” (very tiny) with excellent food, walking distance away. There was also a train with walking distance to take us to the nearest big town of Colac.

Great location. Quiet surroundings. Could hear birds chirping all the time. The motel met all three requirements.

Wonderful location, perfect set up, extremely friendly staff. This was a lovely stop on the Great Ocean Road - not far from Melbourne so it was our first stop and really set the tone for a cozy and fun family getaway. The hotel is comfortable and located near everything.
