Box Hill is a suburb in the east of Melbourne. It has a busy shopping centre, plenty of restaurants and stores. I mainly stay there for the convenience of the location to friends and family. The Eastern freeway will get you to the city in about 30 minutes and there is a nearby train and tram line. It has a large Chinese community reflected in the shops and restaurants. There is no night life to recommend.
Boxhill has very good access to public transport. It has an express train to the city. It is a chinatown area with lots of good restaurants. The food court has amazingly diverse offerings. The are lovely public parks nearby.
Fantastic Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants, great public transport, views, a lot of accommodation choices too. We had a delicous take away meal from Tien Dat, 3 Carrington Road, Box Hill. The best spring rolls ever with some in rice paper wrappers. Very generous serve with four rolls per serve for $18, lettuce cups to wrap, and a good sauce similar to sweet chilli sauce. Transport was excellent with the tram to Port Melbourne, or trains with great connections. Views to Doncaster, Warrandyte, and Box Hill were lovely. Heaps of accommodation to choose from.
The room had a huge crack across 2 walls. The shower was over the bathtub. No handles to help you step over to shower. This was not expected in this day of accommodation. With us being older and unable to use the shower or bath was an absolute shock! The place needs to be completely renovated to today's OHS standards. I rate this as a one star accommodation. There are vra e safety issues. None of the electric appliances were tested and tagged either. They're very old too.
Location is great otherwise an overpriced roof over your head. Would not recommend to anyone friends or enemy. Your site gives restaurant at facility not true not open no chef. 24 hr snacks from cafe not true cafe never manned. Reception not manned 24hrs. Have to use phone outside to get them to come but at times busy so have to wait outside till able to contact someone. You say has wifi which is fingers crossed if it connects, and definitely don’t ask staff for wake up call never happens. Cleaning of the room in 5 days did not happen answer due to covid, and I ended up scratching as something bit me. If you wanted more toiletries you had to go to reception and get. When first got in Tv did not work staff member had to fix a loose connection.
we enjoyed the view and the place but we were disappointed after we noticed at night the power of the lights switched off evry 10 mins we reported the fault to management but nothing wasnt done nxt time we check the appartment before settling in very very poor from management service abut the pwr isue.
Box Hill
Closest to our Melbourne family. Beautiful suburb, right on the tram line and close to the railway. A lovely building, both inside and out. Reception were marvelous, every one of them friendly and obliging. When I couldn't access our boarding passes on my phone at the last minute, just as the taxi arrived, they looked them up on the internet and rapidly printed off copies. Amazing!
We lived the location close to Box Hill train station. Very spacious and modern apartment. The view, floor 20, exceptional. Staff was very helpful and easy self check in.
