The beach is clean and long. It was a great walk to the beach and to the light house. There are also some nice cafes around the beach, in case you get hungry during the walk!! Heaven for Vegans, lot of options!!
Main township is too crowded with expensive unsuitable personal properties and brand shops but any where else were more natural to the image of Byron Bay still. Mixture of locals and trades men and women... people are relaxed and friendly. Air is clean and beach was also clean. many option of eatery and cafes. Unlike most of Australian coast towns, Byron bay has a strong character of its own, landscape wise, people wise and culture wise. Near one week stay felt like a trip to another country, I returned to Sydney well refreshed.
Loved everything. The food scene is fantastic - we loved the tacos at Chihuahua (they were so fresh and delicious); the seafood chowder at Fish Heads was sublime (also insanely fresh); the donuts and fresh loaves of sourdough at The Farm were excellent; as were the fantastic pizzas at The Roadhouse; not to mention the delicious food at Bang Bang. The Suffolk Park Bakery (about an eight minute drive from Byron) also served delicious chocolate croissants and donuts. We made a day trip to beautiful Bangalow and also up to the Gold Coast. Byron is a wonderful place for stunning walks - and we were lucky enough to see breaching whales off the continent's most easterly point (July 2022) whilst we were walking back from the lighthouse. Can't wait for another visit. My only negative, if you could call it that, is I wouldn't want to wander around town too much after dark though. Perhaps if I was thirty years younger I wouldn't mind, but with impressionable teens/tweens, an early dinner was preferable before returning home.
We had to wait a while for decent weather but when it finally came then Byron well and truly lived up to expectations. The beaches are magnificent, everyone is friendly, plenty of dining options, live music and to finish our stay we saw whales !
Byron Bay itself lovely place. For one of the wonders of nsw with the lookout we found that the service at a lot of places off. Like when you walk into a shop to a the shop person doesn’t great you with a smile or hello. And this happened on more than one occasion in more than one store. Discussing this with fellow co workers on my return I found this was a similar experience for others as well. It was off putting. I was happy to spend money In their shops but without basic good communication skills…….
Kayak tour was so much fun and with great environmental message. We didn’t see the dolphins but was offered a return trip for free but we ran out of time. We will do it again one day We saw turtle and guides had great aboriginal and wildlife knowledge and taught us how to ride the waves. Byron is laid back with great shopping and eateries. Fabulous views and beaches.
Byron Bay
We stayed in the main 4 bedroom house at the front. The house was great, family friendly, well equipped and very comfortable. Unfortunately we didn’t realise we had booked a place on the very busy road into Byron Bay. From about 6am we were woken by the traffic each morning. It was quite relentless all day long. In the two back bedrooms not so bad. But in the two front bedrooms upstairs the traffic is noticeable from dawn to dusk. This was during school holidays, so in fairness can’t comment on the level of traffic noise at other times.
Byron Bay
Very spacious room, well appointed. Very responsive and polite host, I feel awful for not remembering girl's name, but I guess one can be excused after 1000km drive. We had one disasters experience on that return trip from Canberra to Cairns, one hmm...I would say "neutral", and one perfect, Both disaster and perfect were in Byron Bay. First on the way North was Glen Villa Resort and I cursed the day I decided to stay there, but Byron Bayside restored my believe in a good hotel in Australia.
Byron Bay
We stayed at The Surf House for 3 nights and loved it! This is not like any other hostel, and is closer to a hotel in the standard of rooms, cleanliness of the property and friendly staff. This was especially welcomed after 44 hours of travelling! Decor was lovely and really fitted with the relaxed but stylish Byron Bay vibe! The hostel bar was also great, serving great pizzas and cheap beer. overall a great stay and would recommend!

Harvey's was a fantastic place to stay. The house was bigger than expected, with a sizeable kitchen and ample living room space for 8. We used the outdoor furniture and BBQ alot, whilst also being tremendously convenient to get to the bustling hub of Byron Bay.

I liked how close it was to the beach and the city centre of Byron Bay. It was good little studio room to stay with my friend and easy to park next too. Getting Ubers from the Holiday House to Byron Bay city centre was easy and cheap with a great pick up location.
Byron Bay
Location was amazing except at night when the hotel across from the apartment stays open till 1am every night . Music, people leaving the venue and bottle shop (which is open till 1am) was extremely loud and disturbed us every night.
Superb location - close to beach, all shops and restaurants - this is the strongpoint for the hotel! Beautifully renovated very comfortable beds and great pillows/ linens The Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant

Super cute and stylish guesthouse right in Byron Town. My friend and I didn't have a car and it was easy to get around.
Byron Bay
It is dated and needs a refurb although I think this is in progress. The beds are so comfy and feel like they hug you to sleep. The staff are amazing from the front desk to the house mouse and room service. We also arranged a party at the hotel and Jordy was such a helpful cruisey guy and did a fabulous job on the day. Food was excellent and very well organised under the teepee.
