Byron Bay itself lovely place. For one of the wonders of nsw with the lookout we found that the service at a lot of places off. Like when you walk into a shop to a the shop person doesn’t great you with a smile or hello. And this happened on more than one occasion in more than one store. Discussing this with fellow co workers on my return I found this was a similar experience for others as well. It was off putting. I was happy to spend money In their shops but without basic good communication skills…….
Kayak tour was so much fun and with great environmental message. We didn’t see the dolphins but was offered a return trip for free but we ran out of time. We will do it again one day We saw turtle and guides had great aboriginal and wildlife knowledge and taught us how to ride the waves. Byron is laid back with great shopping and eateries. Fabulous views and beaches.
I love how clean the town was. There are rubbish bins and butt bins every where to prevent people littering. I love that Byron didn't have any fast food joints in the area - people who dine on fast food litter the rubbish everywhere for miles - this definitely impacted on the cleanliness of the town. The townsfolk were friendly and proud (so they should be). I felt laid back, safe and comfortable. The pubs and restaurants are really good. The vegetarian options were really good too. Cocktails were amazing. Couldn't fault my holiday.
Byron is absolutely beautiful. The week we stayed there in May unfortunately it rained every day. But we took full advantage of what Byron had to offer. We visited the crystal gardens which are unbelievably beautiful the gems of the earth we never knew Australia had. We wanted to go hiking but because of the rain it was closed due to mudslides and flooding., Yet we took this to our advantage and saw a waterfall at Emigrant rCreek which was so beautiful and the rain only added to the beauty. The restaurants and cafes are unbelievable there is one around every corner but make sure you get in early cause most close v very early
Chill time I am a very busy person during the working year, I find it very hard to unwind Byron gives that ability for me to wind back and take stock The area is amazing, the food is fresh, the facilities are increasing, I come yearly and still are finding new and excitplaces to visit stay and play Thank you byron

Byron Bay
About a five minute drive into the main area of Byron. The beach front location at Watagos was fantastic. Away from the busy main area in Byron. Reasonably busy during the day with people walking to the lighthouse and accessing the beach but quiet at night. The only thing we could hear was the sounds of the waves. The apartment had everything you could need, including pod coffee, beautiful teas and luxury bathroom products. I would return to The Watermark.

I stayed in one of the private F rooms, the room was great, balcony, good shower, fine bed, tv, aircon. Really enjoyed staying in a private room while also experiencing the hostel vibe. Obviously it’s more simple than a hotel but I was happy.
