A very different vibe to Noosa that we’d just come from but equally good . We were probably 40 year’s older than the average age but felt very comfortable & relaxed as everyone else was. Some excellent restaurants & all the usual clothing / surf type shops . The beach is fabulous & so long either direction never gets overcrowded . Fabulous sunsets. Surrounding countryside was a great surprise . Very green rolling hills , arable farming & forrests . In many ways you could have been in parts of U.K. . Shropshire , Wiltshire etc . Some interesting little villages to visit too .
Byron Bay is for the young crowd. Cafes, restaurants and shops only catered to young people. Driving around Byron townsite is a challenge and a drive to check out local beaches and the lighthouse was impossible by car with long traffic jams and no available parking. Byron is a bit tired and overrated.
The lighthouse walk is brilliant- the beaches are awesome. My accommodation was so insanely overpriced it’s was brutally disappointing. Poorly maintained facility overall - don’t she’ll out the money they are seeking because the accommodation is generally dirty. (Aquarius Backpackers Resort - hotel room $300 night)
Beautiful place to relax, shop, chill and also partying. Very good vibe even though sometimes you come accross some intresting caracters but for everyone that knows and loves Byron, that is part of it.
Loved the serenity and the vibe at the Crystal Castle -20 minutes from Byron. Sound meditation was beautiful! Beaches and weather were great, people were friendly and I loved the live music in the laneways- had a real European feel about the place. Food tasted great, especially at the Cypriot restaurant and the cost was reasonable. Everything is within walking distance so it was great to take walks around the place. Will visit again!
Lots of beaches to visit. Parking is an issue if you drive, most beaches are busy & metered in Byron. The shops & eateries are great & varied in price range. Great for all travellers types. Would definitely go back.
Belongil Beach, Byron Bay
Very good Motel. Close to the beach and walking distance to Byron Bay shops. Our room was larger than expected and very clean. There was a microwave, sufficient crockery, cutlery etc so that we could have a few meals in, without having to go out. It also was surprisingly quiet, even though on main road. We were a little late checking in, however reception staff ensured that we had access to our key - thank you 😃.
Room overlooking the main road with noisy traffic all the time. No facilities in the hotel except a kettle in the room. On top of all we were overcharged by adding a fee for credit card which was not discussed until we requested a refund. It is a cheap motel style place not a five star hotel. Paul Hawcroft
We were a group of 10 ladies and we never felt on top of each other. There was plenty of space. The house was very well equipped. The host had left plenty of basics in the pantry to whip up a delicious meal. It was a nice stroll into Byron Bay and loved the close proximity to Clarke’s Beach.
Byron Bay
Harvey's was a fantastic place to stay. The house was bigger than expected, with a sizeable kitchen and ample living room space for 8. We used the outdoor furniture and BBQ alot, whilst also being tremendously convenient to get to the bustling hub of Byron Bay.
Belongil Beach, Byron Bay
Location just north of the crazy Byron Bay CBD - we had bicycles so perfect for us. Just opposite the beach which had not been eroded like Town Beach. Next door to The Tree House. But everything has to be booked in advance - Byron is getting stir crazy!

We stayed 3 nights in a ground floor room, it was a perfect location, the room was very spacious and clean and the staff were gracious and welcoming. It’s a lovely hotel with the bar next door, which has the Byron bay vibe, which we loved.
