The location was great, very close to the main town Centre and the bed was very comfortable with electric blanket, crisp linen sheets, doonas and plenty of extra blankets if required. A nice touch was that the heating in the room was put on prior to our arrival.

Dylesford is such a classy place to stay. It has great museums, classy shops and lots of great areas to dine.
The lake which is a short walk to the town is wonderful to explore. There are several galleries, churches and an Old Mill antique area and lots of streets to explore filled with heratige houses.

Everything was close by, Shops, Blakes Specialty Grocers has everything and quality too. There are 2 distilleries in town and the Hepburn Distillery Gin, Vodka, Whiskey Cellar Door was Lovely, really great quality product, lovely staff with a fun atmosphere! There is a chocolate shop and a short walk near the markets there is Griffy's Cafe for great coffee but very busy for food so must be good (we didn't have time to wait) and The Daylesford Hot Chocolate Co just a few doors up! For the kids there are train rides every Sunday too. There is heaps more too so well worth a visit. The only thing negative is there are not a lot of Child friendly places for dinner (we had our 2 toddler grandchildren with us) so we dined at the Glendale Cottage where we were staying.

It was once a charming and relaxing place to escape to, but now it is usually crowded, busy, and has lost its magic. However, it has the Best Bookshop in Australia and a great Second-hand shop. Also a beautiful Botanic Garden on the hill.
