It was easy to spend 3 days in Daylesford visiting galleries, parks and the lake area. The food was excellent at the cafes and restaurants I visited, especially The Farmers Arms Hotel which also had a lovely outdoor area. If you’re into second hand shopping, you must visit the Mill Market and op shops too!

Daylesford is a gorgeous country town...not too big and not too small. Great cafes and restaurants. Gorgeous scenery. Lovely community and service is outstanding. Recommend it for a relaxing break.

Daylesford is wonderful, I visit a few times a year.

Daylesford is wonderful, I visit a few times a year. Lovely restaurants, cafes, shops, people and a superb calmness that is perfect for the soul on a weekend away. Farmers Arms pub has a great local feel, raffle on a Friday is fun. Convent for scones is a great experience and history lesson. Plenty more to do, if you so desire... but a chilled weekend with great company is the the way I like to experience Daylesford.

    Very picturesque and relaxing place.

Very picturesque and relaxing place. Friendly locals, lovely cafes and restaurants. Mineral Springs at Hepburn Bathhouse are amazing for total relaxation. Although not cheap, it is well worth the experience.

Daylesford is a gorgeous town and I would say it is a near perfect country town. It has an intoxicating culture and smorgasbord of historic architecture with many textures and variations and stunning green spaces directly out of the centre of town. It's just a delightful place. No place is perfect, like central Hobart and Launceston it can look a little stark in bright sunlight but nowhere near as much as the two Tasmanian cities. Also if you are not an in your face yuppie/upwardly mobile capitalist, these people are part of the mix there and if like me they are not your thing they are best avoided. Thankfully this time they were on the back burner and nowhere near as prevalent as they've been in my previous visits there. Surprisingly there is a small but vibrant nightlife there on the weekend spread across a few venues.

    Daylesford is a great base.

Daylesford is a great base. It has lots to do but also lots to do in surrounding areas. The leaves are just starting to turn colour so the next few weeks will be even more beautiful. Walk around the lake, explore the shops, drive to Hepburn Springs and Lavandula in Shepherds Flat. Check out the old stone houses in Androit and walk around Mount Franklin. The Sunday market is worth a wander as is The Mill antique and collectables if you have plenty of time. Jackie's on Vincent has the best Mongolian beef. If you are there on a Saturday, definitely stop in at the Historical Museum which is open from 11am-3pm. The volunteers are really helpful and passionate about the history of the area.

Beautiful old style hotel. The exexutive suite with spa and balcony had the old world charm we wanted complete with a creaky step up to the room. The bed was every bit 5 star. Central location was the greatest and an easy walk to local shops and restaurants. Our hosts Louise and Jason were amazing and full of local knowledge. Sevice was excellent in every respect. We stay in a lot of hotels and this one gets 4 stars with ease.

Number of bedrooms & bathrooms. 2 of the 3 bathrooms are very modern. Good supply of large towels, etc. Milk in fridge on arrival. Choice of crockery, glassware, etc. Pet friendly & safe yard. Doggy bags (even though we had our own, it was thoughtful) Safe off street parking. Comfortable large beds, but I think the single beds are for children. Central heating in main area of house. Quiet area. Fantastic sunsets!

The Albert Hotel was a fun & fantastic place to have our Stay-Cation. The hotel owner Ziggy, was welcoming & informative. we felt like we were in our own home. Ziggy offered us the history of the hotel & we saw all the hard work put into the transformation from dilapidated to the stunning historical building it is today. Ziggy clearly has a great passion for the hotel & Daylesford itself. wonderful ☺️

Very spacious and comfortable room. When we arrived, the heater was already on, which was nice on a chilly afternoon. The bathroom is very spacious, plenty of room for 2 people. Bed is comfy. Right over the road is the Farmers Arms Hotel, which provides an excellent dinner, and walking distance to the popular Daylesford Market on Sunday morning.

This house is amazing - the decor is a mix of so many wonderful and unique pieces. We stayed when the weather was cold, the gas fire place was so good and made everything beautiful and cosy. Everything was immaculate and very clean. Excellent location to Mill Market and most people would be able to walk to the main shopping area of Daylesford.

The house is in a quiet location and close enough to town to be able to walk. It had everything that we could possibly need in a house. The cupboards and drawers were marked so we knew where everything was. It is very tastefully styled and very comfortable house. We will definately be back. This house was exceptional.

The hotel is at the center of everything and walking distance to various restaurants and shops. The room we stayed at was newly-renovated and has a very minimalistic and industrial design which we loved so much. It looks different from the outside of the room as it was more wooden and vintage.

The place was welcomingly warm when we arrived. The owner had prepared bountiful supplies for breakfast, good coffee and teas, and also snacks (cheese, dips and crisps), which was a nice touch. Large house with plenty of room for a group of six.

A hotel quality stay in a cosy cottage. We loved relaxing in the sun trap garden, and snuggling up on the sofa in the evening. Plus, it was so close to the town and the lake.
