Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, The Formby Hotel/Alexander Hotels and Backpackers offers varied accommodations across two adjacent properties in Devonport, 1640 feet from Devonport Ferry... Loved the view and the kids loved watching the spirit take off
Located in Devonport, less than 0.6 mi from Bluff Beach, Elimatta Hotel provides accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. The hotel features family rooms. I like the fact that it's close to the beach good staff love the bistro and a little meal deals I got a chicken parmi with a pint it was good priced would definitely stay again

One steps back in to the past when you enter this beautiful premises with its long history. Speak to either Paul or Brendon and they will give you the Full Monty on this grand establishment and its uses through time. Everything about this place is quality and carefully thought out by the proprietors. Should one wish to be spoiled then this is the place to head for in Devonport. All the local amenities are close by (walking distance). Should you wish to have a tipple and then not drive, then Paul or Brendon will take you in to town and collect you later on. This is about Devonport TASMANIA!!!! Lovely river estuary - a short industrial segment then a large bay and Tasmania beyond. Lovely transit of huge ships across the front lawn. One RORO freighter left for Melbourne and the Spirit of Tasmania I and SeaRoad arriving on the Sunday morning. Amazing
Devonport was very central to visit the many coastal towns, we also used as a base to visit Cradle Mountain but be aware the winter weather dictates which attractions you visit in the winter. The supermarkets were nearby for self catering. Parking in the CBD was 1/2 hour not very helpful . I personally like 1-2 hours to look around. The local people are very friendly.
There was lots to do if you like nature and have a car. 10 things to do around Devonport will sort that out for you. Levan Canyon, Preston Falls, Kaydale Gardens (stay for lunch or morning and afternoon tea). Great home cooked meal.
Great recreational and green areas. Beaches are very nice and the city is undergoing development to further enhance its attractability. Great Irish pub and the shopping is ok. Walkway along Victoria Parade is very good for walking or bike riding. Only 1 hour from Launceston.
We travelled around for a week in Tasmania and we had a fantastic time all the place we loved and the weather was perfect Devonport is a great place to start and finish a holiday the coast line is beautiful
Used East Devonport Caravan Park and Barclay Motor in. Both provided excellent facilities and service, nothing wrong with this place. Recommend Bass Straight Museum. Very Pleasant stay for two nights each end of tripe. East Devonport Caravan park was still open despite late ship arrival.
For just $2 more than the cheapest motel / hotel room in the area for the night, we had the entire apartment to ourselves. It's a modern property, close to the waterfront and shops, and the fencing and automatic gate did increase the sense of security. Check-in was easy and straightforward with all details provided via email. Complimentary breakfast cereals were provided in addition to the standard tea and coffee. Great to know that it was built using mostly recycled materials and has solar panels.
For me this was the perfect place to stay in Devonport as it is situated on a tranquil, secluded part of the river, yet within 5-10 minutes drive of restaurants and supermarkets. Sitting on our terrace in the sunshine over looking the river was a great way to eat breakfast. The apartment was luxurious, the kitchen was well equipped, both bathrooms lovely and the washing machine and dryer very appreciated
Lock box access for keys was ideal. Very close location to the Spirit of Tassie ferry (<1km), as well as pub and restaurant (immediately across the road), and town centre. Good sized kitchen, dining, lounge as well as covered outdoor area. Gated parking also very handy.
We got up graded to a better room at no extra cost. The staff were super friendly The hotel right next door was a great place to eat. Only 1.5 km to the Spirit of Tasmania terminal. Although it was close to a major highway we hardly heard any traffic from the room
The hotel was quite easy to find and is walking distance from the bus station. It was also near the small pedestrian shopping street/center of Devonport. The staff was helpful and there are a number of shops nearby to find something to eat.
Clean, well organised. Liked the wood fire, big TV, vibrating chair!! Comfortable. Basic breakfast supplies were good. Convenient location, good place to chill out during a work trip. Good recommendations for restaurants etc in Devonport.
The hotel is reasonably well located to walk to places to eat. It does have a feel of a RSL club though . The rooms were clean, new and enough for our us with 4 people sharing . But as we were only staying 1 night it, it was fine.
The location of this hotel was a quite street but a quick walk into town and the foreshore. The breakfast buffet had a automatic self serve pancake machine, it was a favorite of ours for breakfast.
The service was top notch and I don’t think I’ve ever slept on a more comfortable bed. If you’re considering staying anywhere else while in Devonport, don’t.
A beautiful apartment with unforgettable ocean views. Close to everything that Devonport has to offer. Host Fiona made us very welcome. Highly recommended!
Very welcoming - great communication. Comfortable accommodation in a convenient location a short walk from downtown Devonport.
Second time staying here and no complaints. Great pool, great service, clean facilities, close to boat (spirit of Tasmania)
Location was convenient but not overall very appealing, vacant hotel across road and down a side laneway.
Lovely home like apartment so close to town and the Spirit if Tasmania port.
The location and general facilities were fantastic.
