Gateway Hotel By Nightcap Plus is conveniently located in the heart of Devonport and the Central Business District, just 13 minutes' drive from Devonport airport and 10 minutes' drive from the ferry... The facilities were excellent and the breakfast also. The best place we stayed in Tasmania.
Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, The Formby Hotel/Alexander Hotels and Backpackers offers varied accommodations across two adjacent properties in Devonport, 1640 feet from Devonport Ferry... Staff members at reception really friendly, Cleaning staff did a great job
Just 4 minutes’ drive from Spirit of Tasmania Terminal, Argosy Motor Inn offers a restaurant, a bar and free on-site parking. Cassie was the highlight of our sons trip! She made the yummiest, fluffiest pancakes and nothing was too much trouble for her.
Located in a quiet area, just 5 minutes’ walk from Mersey River, Sunrise Devonport features rooms with a flat-screen TV with cable and digital channels. Wellcoming & helpful staff, a good selection at breakfast and an excelent French Reataurant for the evening. Couldn't fault the accommodation.
Offering private bungalows with free Wi-Fi, Abel Tasman Cabins Devonport is located alongside East Devonport Beach and Saint Georges Park. Guests enjoy lovely gardens and a large BBQ area. We stayed in a modest small wooden cottage which had everything in it. Unlike in other posh places all appliances worked, no problem with finding power points for telephones etc. All was there for a comfortable stay including cooking facilities, dishes etc. Cosy, warm, lovely walks around and only 3 min drive to the ferry. Just great
The Grand On Macfie is a bed and breakfast in Devonport that features barbecue facilities and garden. Featuring a shared lounge, this property also provides guests with a terrace. Everything about this place from Paul & Brendan to the location is well above average.
Waterfront Apartments offer luxury accommodations set on the banks of the Mersey river in Devonport. Free WiFi is available and free private parking is available on site. The apartment was magnificent. A large apartment with high quality amenities. perfect.
Apart from being the arrival point for the ferry from Melbourne, it is well located to explore most of northern Tasmania. The area is a foodie paradise and it's close to the great northern beaches as well as the Mole Creek caves and the lovely, historical towns of the interior.
Delightful surprise. If seeking accommodation close the Spirit for morning departure, this place exceeds expectations. Very clean and updated rooms with comfortable bed. We arrived around 6pm the night before travel and walked to the Bistro which served a great meal. Breakfast also available. Would stay again.
A beautiful town on the Mersey River, the views of the sea where the Spirit of Tasmania docks and departs is lovely. The locals are soooo friendly, we got out the tourist map on our walk-about and was asked by one of the locals if we needed assistance, that wouldn't happen in Sydney I'm sure. We found a fantastic bakery that I think was called Banjos Bakery, their curried scallop pie was filled with scallops and so yummy, the cakes on display were also tempting, how lucky the locals are to have an outstanding bakery like that. There is a lovely walk/cycle path around to Mersey Bluff lighthouse that passes beaches that are pristine surrounded by green parkland. We saw a chap walk down the street with an alpaca...an unusual sight for sure. I loved Devonport and am so glad we spent a whole day and evening there.
Devonport is developing into a very attractive city. It has natural assets such as several beaches for swimming, nice childrens playground and skate park, beautiful hills in the distance, lovely river. Now the city centre is developing with some major upgrades underway, lovely mall, many boutique shops. A great hinterland with apple cider factories, Lake Barrington for recreation, walking at Narawantapu and Mt Roland, lovely village of Latrobe with any features for tourists such as the Axeman's Hall of Fame, beautiful tea-rooms. Lots of superbly maintained Art Deco buildings.
This is about Devonport TASMANIA!!!! Lovely river estuary - a short industrial segment then a large bay and Tasmania beyond. Lovely transit of huge ships across the front lawn. One RORO freighter left for Melbourne and the Spirit of Tasmania I and SeaRoad arriving on the Sunday morning. Amazing
Devonport was very central to visit the many coastal towns, we also used as a base to visit Cradle Mountain but be aware the winter weather dictates which attractions you visit in the winter. The supermarkets were nearby for self catering. Parking in the CBD was 1/2 hour not very helpful . I personally like 1-2 hours to look around. The local people are very friendly.
We booked into the hotel mainly as a stop the night before catching the Spirit of Tasmania back to the mainland the following morning. the room was spacious, clean and had all the facilities we needed for an overnight stay. Staff gave some good suggestions for dinner and were very friendly. the pool was out of action that night but with use of the pool and basketball area - could make for a nice longer stay
Centrally located and close to Spirit of Tasmania terminal the motel style accomodation was perfect for an early night in readiness for an early start. We had a lovely walk along the Victoria Esplanade before enjoying a pleasant evening meal in the hotel dining room.
The house was authentically decorated with taste and class. The rooms had no unnecessary clutter which was appreciated. The antiques were of excellent quality. The breakfast was delicious. I must mention the cutlery and crockery were of highest standard.
Very clean and comfortable hotel in a central location. Beds were comfortable and it has all the facilities. Ordered dinner and breakfast for room service which was quick and the food was very good. Staff were very friendly.
Continental breakfast was good/adequate; I had thought the accommodation was located quite near to the Spirit of Tasmania dock but it was actually across the water/other side - although still a quick drive.
This has to be the best breakfast location in Devonport to eat my bacon and eggs. And they happily accommodated my gluten free diet. I wanted to stare at the gorgeous view over a coffee and just relax all day.
Fantastic hosts and an excellent breakfast. Homemade preserves with yoghurt, eggs cooked to perfection and toast with jams made from the property produce, what better did one need to start the day.
The motel was a couple of kms from the Spirit of Tasmania ferry and on the river. The hotel on the property served great meals. The room had a refurbished bathroom and a large TV.
The location of the park is excellent for someone who wants to take the Spirit of Tasmania in the morning. The facilities were good and as described.
Location perfect. Suited our requirements perfectly. Will book again when available. Frequently staying in Devonport for next 6 months.
Good hotel for a one-night stay for guests who are not too demanding.
