Room was spacious clean and cosy and the bed was super comfy. Also loved the bathroom towels were navy blue, not the typical white towels.
Also loved that i could sit out on the porch & chain smoke with a cup of coffee, in the midst of fresh crisp air!

The coo eeea soldier and the anzac park and a great coffee at the fish and chip shop with the car memorabilia. We were sorry to see the bank coffee and breakfast closed. It was lovely the last time we visited

We had just one night and could have stayed for another.
We had just one night and could have stayed for another. We found the Gilgandra Museum and the Coo-ee Museum, where we could have spent more time. The weather was perfect and so found the whole experience very enjoyable.

I was there for a night stopover en-route to Victoria from...
I was there for a night stopover en-route to Victoria from Queensland. Seems to be a good smaller town with the historical feature being the Cooee March starting at this place. I went for a 1 hour cycle in the early morning. A concrete path followed along beside the Castlereagh River bank into the town centre from the southern outskirts near where the Motel was located. The terrain is very flat and made for easy peddling. Just had to watch out for the Semi trailers that were on the Hewell Highway corridor, that skirts the town.

There is no real meal options around this town after 18:00.
There is no real meal options around this town after 18:00. Most places are either closed in the main town after this time. Best options for meals eg: Dinner or Breakfast are the main road truck stops service stations who cater for the truck drivers mainly where you can dine in or take away. Menus are plentiful, lots of choices.

Gilgandra is a lovely country town and a great place to visit. A wonderful remembrance park for our fallen soldiers.
The Royal hotel great for dinner.
Unfortunately it was too wet for us to visit some of the places in the area
Sadly the windmills in the park were not as advertised either not finished or being pulled down!!!!

If you are a plant lover then a visit (weekends only) to Orana Cactus World is a must. There is also an excellent pub, The Royal, that is worth visiting. In their beer garden is a grapevine that was planted way back in the 1890s. It still bears fruit.

Helen was delightful and greeted us like friends. Went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The food we ordered from the menu was delicious and we appreciated that it was all home made which was a welcomed touch after being on the road for a week.
Our room was exceptionally clean and well maintained, we had a very restful sleep and enjoyed our stay. We will absolutely stay again on our next trip passing through Gilgandra. Thank you Helen for taking such good care of us!

Our hosts Sandy and Laurie are warm, wonderful people. Sandy went out of her way to make us feel at home with a delicious breakfast and extra treats including home-made slices to eat. She even provided a turn-down service (with chocolates on our pillows) while we were out to dinner at a nearby restaurant, Lovely old residence in the heart of Gilgandra with a super comfy bed and olde world charm. Thank you for a restful break on a long journey.

The motel is well located in Gilgandra - close to shops and restaurants and the main routes. The rooms have been recently redecorated. It is a traditional country motel - comfortable and very good value for money. It has effective air conditioning and free wifi. It's quiet. We have stayed there several times and intend to go back.

Excellent location just south of Gilgandra. I had a large trailer and there is plenty of room to turn and park. There appears to have been a recent upgrade to the rooms.

We were able to walk around the street to enjoy a meal at the hotel. The history of Gilgandra is very interesting with the Cooee march to Sydney in 1915.
