Located in Gilgandra, guests staying at Castlereagh Motor Inn will wake up to the relaxing sounds of native birds. The room was clean, large and very tidy. Had all the necessary appliances, plus cutlery and plates to use if I needed. New bathroom was great too. The staff were very friendly, giving recommendations on where best to eat, and where I could find things around town. As a young female often travelling for work, safety and security is important to me, and this stay was definitely that. Would 100% recommend to anyone!
Located across the Hunter Park, Gilgandra Motel offers an outdoor pool, a licensed restaurant and free WiFi access. It offers air-conditioned rooms with a 32-inch flat-screen HD TV. Perfect sized family rooms with great prices. Staff were able to help with a really late check in and we extended our booking over the phone. Our room was spacious, good size tv, comfy beds and shower was hot with great water pressure. One of the best motels we've stayed in this year. Will definitely book again when we travel through Gilgandra.
Boasting barbecue facilities, Cooee Motel is located 0.7 mi from Gilgandra town center. Each accommodations at the 3.5-star motel has garden views and free WiFi. Guests can make use of a garden. Probably the best motel on the Newell Hwy that we have stayed in
Located next door to a public pool, just 5 minutes' walk from restaurants, shops and a hotel bistro, Three Ways Motel offers air-conditioned rooms with free NBN WiFi, a kitchenette and an LCD TV. The location is great, cheap and pet friendly. Plus staff went above and beyond with helping with the booking in general.
Peppercorn motor inn is offering accommodations in Narromine. Each room at the 4-star hotel has garden views, and guests can enjoy access to a garden and to barbecue facilities. Very comfortable, and very convenient to the golf club next door for dinner. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!
Fairly compact town with most things with walking distance. Cooee Cultural Centre is excellent. Rural Museum closes very early - 2.00 pm - so could not visit. Services Club provides good meals but the best meal I have ever had in Gilgandra was at the Railway Hotel. Highly recommended hotel.
Gilgandra is a lovely country town and a great place to visit. A wonderful remembrance park for our fallen soldiers. The Royal hotel great for dinner. Unfortunately it was too wet for us to visit some of the places in the area Sadly the windmills in the park were not as advertised either not finished or being pulled down!!!!
If you are a plant lover then a visit (weekends only) to Orana Cactus World is a must. There is also an excellent pub, The Royal, that is worth visiting. In their beer garden is a grapevine that was planted way back in the 1890s. It still bears fruit.
A small town, not too many shops. Good for a short stay. Food places few and far between. There is a Chinese buffet in main street on Friday and Saturday nights from 6pm. Fairly good price. All you can eat. Just over $15 adults. Discovered by accident when looking to order food. There is also a hotel that sells takeaway food like pizza at night. The bowls club (now sporties) also has Chinese food after 5pm most days. Hot food is hard to come by if coming through Gilgandra after 2pm and wanting quick eat before travelling on. As we were on way back from Qld. Servo pie is the best you will get.
I stayed one night on an emergency trip from Canberra tp Bingara. It was a convenient stop over and met my needs. I did not explore the area, though I have been before and think it is an interesting part of the country. Thank you
The windmill walk along the river was lovely, the Chinese restaurant at the bowling club was a pleasant surprise all the rose gardens in town were gorgeous and the heritage features of the town were charming .
It was the perfect half way stop off for our drive between the Sunshine Coast and Melbourne. The owners were welcoming and provided a great service; and the room was extremely clean. We were travelling with a dog and a cat and they were also welcome. It was the perfect spot for very tired travelers to get a good nights sleep before continuing on their journey the next day. I would not hesitate to recommend the Bungalow Motel to others and stay there again if travelling.
Our enjoyment of our stay at Chinnock B&B had everything to do with our hosts. Sandy was the most welcoming and generous host we have encountered. The building has an interesting history but is in good condition and well equipped. Gilgandra itself was a surprise, with a nice river walk and a number of eating options.
The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful. He answered all of our questions and nothing thing was too much trouble. He was always available should we need any assistance with anything. He did an outstanding job for someone is very new to the business.
This is our number one choice when staying in Gilgandra. The owners our lovely and very helpful. You can also get wonderful meals delivered to you room. The rooms are always clean and there is plenty of room to park a trailer.
The pool was enjoyed after a long, hot drive into Gilgandra and the lounges beside it lovely! The room was great as were the facilities and customer service.
Spacious grounds on the outside of Gilgandra. Second time we have stayed. Older motel but well maintained.
Very clean nice room for an older motel. Helpful staff, would stay again
Gilgandra, nice town. Will bring fishing rods next time.
