After arriving at 5PM on a Sunday evening, I found i had forgoten my belt. With not much confidence I headed out to local shops to find a belt, it felt like a ghost town, no body was walking on the street and evrry card that drove past looked at me "must be a lost tourist", anyway didnt find a belt and my pants diddnt fall down the next day. nice country town!!
The great old gum trees in the Hamilton district are worth travelling there for alone. Add the back drop of the Grampians and the volcanic features a most interesting and attractive place,, after all major Mitchell did it Australia Felix.
Hamilton is lovely, with many places to go and see. We went to the Hamilton Central for an evening meal. Great steaks and the choices were varied. Had a beautiful lunch at the Hamilton Hamper - coffees and sandwiches were very enjoyable. Everywhere we shopped the staff were friendly and helpful. What more can you ask for. We enjoyed ourselves.
Hamilton appears to be conservative in its psyche and I believe it needs a hypo- active injection to dynamically stimulate growth and increased prosperity within the town's C.B.D/S.W. region embracing clean new industry development opportunities, residential and population growth and expanding on the qualities that Hamilton has to offer IE the lake, historic churches and buildings , museums, gallery , performing arts , proximity to local wineries , Grampians National Park, Ship-Wreck Coast/whale watching, Blue Lake and the Mt Gambier region , Additional council income would facilitate escalated council expenditure to capitalise on C.B.D / regional improvements IE beautifIcation, maintenenance, upgrade which in turn would lead to a self sustaining increase in tourism numbers and spending. Regional growth would unlock opportunities for applying and receiving State and Federal Government Development Grants.
hamilton is one of regional Victoria's gems. Not only is it close to the Grampians but it has an excellent botanical garden, lovely streets, good cafes, fine old buildings a very good art gallery and overall, a nice feel.
You can walk around Hamilton easily, it's quite an attractive town, some good shops & cafes, juice bar, restaurants, supermarkets. Cemetery interesting to visit for local history. National Park not too far to drive to, volcano discovery centre really interesting too. Good drives to outlying towns, farms do haybale creations for Christmas. Portland, Port Fairy, Warrnambool only 2 hours drive for a day trip.
Great range of kitchen utensils, crockery etc VERY comfortable bed, best sleep I'd had all year. Extra blankets provided, which were needed as it got very cold at night! Great location, south of the Grampians - within 30 minutes drive to some great hikes - Mt Abrupt, Mt Sturgeon and Mt Picanniny. 10/15 minute walk to the centre of town, which has 3 supermarkets and lots of other shopping. Right across the road from Lake Hamilton - we went for a walk around the lake just before sunset- it was gorgeous.
Hamilton
Ideally located and right next to Coles supermarket if you need to buy any groceries. Walk through the Coles car park and you will come across a great cafe called Tosca Brown. The room was great and modern with all the amenities you would expect in a motel or even hotel. This room was much nicer than our room in a four star hotel that we stayed in on the same trip. The bathroom was lovely and clean and there was even a kitchenette with a sink, mini fridge and microwave. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Hamilton
First time visiting Hamilton and so glad we chose this motel. Good location on edge of CBD and quiet. Close to everything. Spotless room with all you need for your stay. There was a breakfast box and large fluffy towels to enjoy the spa bath which were a nice touch. Also coffee plunger and pod machine. Bed is firm but still comfortable.
Hamilton
Fantastically clean and comfortable, real milk in the fridge (not UHT), blockout blinds and curtains so room was really dark, great shower, individual lights for reading over the bed. Hamilton is a lovely town and we’ll definitely stay here next time. Highly recommend.

Stayed for one night while on the road for that it was enough, for a longer stay I would choose another accommodation. Hamilton does not offer a lot of other options on booking.com though.
the room was small but enough space for the time that I spent there. the location was great. the staff could not have been more helpful. enjoyed my stay in hamilton.
