The staff is extremely friendly. Breakfast choices are freshly made for you ranging from eggs benedict to pancakes or a huge fruit salad! Our view of the mountains was awesome, although next time I would ask for rooms overlooking the gardens, which are incredible!

Covid has taken a toll on Katoomba.

Covid has taken a toll on Katoomba. Many of the shops and restaurants are now shut. Two of the good places to eat are Avalon, which is a jazz club with delicious, inventive food, and Cattlefish, a wonderful burger and fish cafe. Katoomba is a good place from which to explore the sights offered in the Blue Mountains. Easy to get to by train, but the sights often need a car or a tour bus.

Katoomba is the place to visit for beautiful views and easier access to the walks and hikes in the mountains. You can get around there easily but may have some parking troubles on the weekend. I would suggest walking to the hikes or getting a bus to the hikes and walks. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops to enjoy.

Katoomba township has so many shops closed.

Katoomba township has so many shops closed. It seems to have lost it charm in the main street. Everyone had gone to leura where there were plenty of shops of choice. Katoomba needs to revamp itself to attract more people to come and see the blue mountains and visit all the tourist sites.
