Staff were great, we were coming in on a late flight and the staff accommodated to this, the cooked the three of us food ready for arrival which was around an hour after the kitchen had closed, the room had a microwave and was clean.

Mackay is a dump.
Mackay is a dump. Thi is a very old cabins with ghastly interior design. I could smell the room from outside-smoky,stuffy dirty. Woken at mid Ute to very loud party in camp kitchen. Woken at 3 by bangs and crashes in next cabin. Afraid for our safety. Nowhere to eat in town after5 pm. Slept very little for fear of car being broken into and safety.

I was travelling through Mackay and took the opportunity to catch up with some of my Mackay family and we had a good meal at the Shamrock Hotel a couple of hundred metres up the road. It is easy to get around Mackay if you have your own transportation.

Botanical Gardens are nice for a stroll.
Botanical Gardens are nice for a stroll. A drive in the country to Seaforth and Cape Hillsborough is well worth it. A walk on the mangrove boardwalk is quite pleasant and peaceful. Do yourself a favour and pop into the Old Station Teahouse on the way back from the Cape.

Love, Love, love this place. Fabulous location. Within walking distance to city center. Would have loved to stay longer. The room was great for our short stay. Very comfortable bed, toiletries in bathroom were just amazing. The water pressure in the shower was just the best.

Mackay is a great place to visit.
Mackay is a great place to visit. close enough for a day trip to the rain forest at Eungella and a trip to Broken River to see the platypus. There are lots of walking trials for every level of fitness. The Finch Hatton Gorge is also work the walk up to see - maybe a swim but the water is super cold, even in summer! Its also close enough to visit some lovely islands and do some snorkeling, scuba diving or go fishing. Visited lots of lovely restaurants and pubs.

This is an old block of rooms and they are showing their age. We chose it because they are pet friendly, which we appreciate. However, our experience in QLD is far different from NSW, where we can book 5 star hotels with our pet, whereas QLD there appears very little pet friendly accommodation that rates above 2 or 3 stars. Disappointing. However, the staff at the sea breeze went beyond expectations, even to call me to advise I’d left a charger behind. They kindly agreed to post it and I now have a tracking number, so extremely pleased.

I am very particular about cleanliness and I think this is one of the cleanest motels I have ever stayed in. In COVID times they are miles ahead of the big name hotels in ensuring the rooms are COVID safe. Lovely staff great food and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

There was tea and coffee making facilities, plus a fridge, microwave and toaster. The free WiFi was among the best I have experienced in any motel anywhere in Australia.

We stayed at their hotel room, meanwhile our friends with kids were staying at their 2 Bedroom Apartment and they are very happy with it. It is nice, clean and spacious again great view from their apartment too. Wish we could stay longer.
