Set among landscaped gardens in the Margaret River wine region, Grand Mercure Basildene Manor features spacious rooms and suites, a swimming pool, sun terrace and tennis court. Thank you very much!

Everything we needed was readily available - supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and plenty of information available for activities including wineries. People we met were wonderfully friendly and helpful. We unexpectedly had to visit the hospital and the care received there was brilliant. Overall a wonderful place to stay and would love to spend more time there.
Well located, short drive to numerous distilleries, breweries & wineries. MR chocolate factory was visited a few times! Several great caves in the area, beaches stunning, numerous great bushwalks in the area. Numerous locations for the kids, WOW - just before MR chocolate factory was a great place for kids of all ages, their "puzzle" area was great to spend some time in with our family. Beer Farm was great - book ahead though! What's not to love about this area.
A lovely town with plenty of shops and beautiful walks along the river. Lots to see and do Magnificent wineries with stunning gardens Cave tours, nature walks discovering wildflowers and native orchids. Beautiful beaches
Firstly, it’s cold in early Oct so pack accordingly. Plenty of cafes, a few shops & a country village feel. Relaxed, friendly and staff doing their best to bounce back from Covid but a lot of staff still needed. The tavern is a hub.
I have been to Margaret River several times and the local hotel has always been a good place to get a meal. Sadly on this occasion the hotel was closed for renovations. The nearby Settlers Tavern was adequate if not overcrowded. That aside, we had a hearty meal at a reasonable price. The town doesn't seem to have the same vibe as it did in the 90's and early 2000's, probably due to the changing demographic of choosing it as a tree change region more than a holiday destination. Still, it is an ideal location to position one's self to see and experience the wonderful array of wineries and other attractions for an extended period of time.
Would reconsider going back to Margaret River in early August. Daytime was busy but at night the town was dead. Finding places to eat out was difficult. That may have been a Covid problem (no staff). Morries was a great spot to eat out and would recommend it. Was not impressed with The River Bar and Restaurant. Food was poor and burnt (would not recommend the chicken wings). Shame Settlers do not serve meals on a Tuesday and Wednesday night. Some good coffee shops. Would recommend Riversmith for coffee and breakfast. Not a lot in town for young couples in winter. Next time will travel Spring or Autumn
Lovely location amongst the trees about 10 minutes drive from Margaret River townsite. Very quiet and relaxing and you can walk around the property and gardens. Chalets and rooms are large and very comfortable. The staff are always very helpful. This was our third stay in 12 months. We came this time for the wine and food evening by local winery Skigh Wines which was excellent. Great music too!
The apartment is exactly as described, super comfortable beds, central to everything in town, very modern and clean. Etienne is such a thoughtful host. I mentioned that we were coming to stay for my wife’s birthday and he kindly had a bottle of wine waiting on our arrival. We would recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to stay in luxury pretty much in the middle of Margaret River.
Opulent luxury, spacious luxuriously appointed living area tastefully decorated with original artwork adorning the walls. Beautiful marble bathroom with large shower cubicle and heated floors. The apartment is well located in the Margaret River township close to shops and restaurants..A luxury escape you never want to leave.
Absolutely beautiful setting, really spacious room with fridge, spa bath, walk in shower, terrace and Foxtel TV. Continental breakfast was perfect each morning with lots of selection. Short walk from Margaret River town centre and next door to the Brewhouse with great food and drink selections.
Best location in all of Margaret River. Right there in the centre of town. We loved previously staying here in a back room away from the road., which is why we stayed here this time. Would definitely stay here again, but only if it's not apartment 1. Easy key pickup.
Location was perfect. Only good thing going for it. Right on the main road (although there were major road works on the main road that the hotel did not think to advise us of, so it was harder to actually get to the hotel and its carpark as access was cut off).
The location. We were 2 mins from town but due to how the property was set up it felt like you were deep in the bush. The self contained chalet had everything you needed to have a relaxing time or to entertain friends. Massive comfy beds
The location is far from margaret river town center but is very quiet (but safe) and cozy. It is located near the beach and the night sky is breathtaking. The room is very clean and the cooking equipment is fantastic. The rooms are huge.
Got to meet lots of interesting folk in communal lounge. Cooked breakfast outstanding. Nice hosts who were always available but unobtrusive. Lovely atmosphere among fellow guests who were always happy to share Margaret River experiences.
4th time in margaret river, paid a little more than we have in previous places, but definitely the best property we've stayed in. Got a townhouse and could easily have moved in.
The Chalets are in a fantastic location with great access to all of Margaret River. They are as pictured, clean, free wifi and set in a wonderful peaceful location.
Great location, within walking distance to shops and cafes. Rooms are clean and spacious. Self contained apartment with everything provided.
The bed was so comfy, gorgeous place.. super pet friendly & close to Margaret river town centre ❤️
