Located in Oberon, Royal Hotel Oberon offers a bar. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi. The hotel has family rooms. Country hospitality. Room was good size. I had a share bathroom which was super clean and nice. The fire next to bar to sit and have a wine when it was zero degrees out.
The family-owned and operated Titania Motel features a garden with barbecue facilities and provides free Wi-Fi. All rooms are nonsmoking and offer a flat-screen TV. Parking was close to the room. The room was warm but not stuffy. The bed was very comfortable with fresh new bed clothes. The Motel did not offer breakfast but there were facilities in the room to store (Fridge) and to prepare a light breakfast (Toaster) as well as coffee and tea making (Coffee and Tea supplied). It was very well set up for a low cost room.
Featuring barbecue facilities and a restaurant, Big Trout Motel is located in Oberon. At the motel, every room comes with a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. The reception was very welcoming. I asked for an extra towel and I got it immediately. Very friendly staff.
Glenburn House is located near O’Connell. Originally built in 1883 as a school, the owners have since made sympathetic additions to convert it to a stylish residence enhanced by artistic furnishings,... Jennifer was the perfect host. We were welcomed with a cup of tea and a smile. The home is set in a beautiful garden but designed for privacy of each cabin/room. THe gardens were so peaceful and relaxing we sat on a private pation in the evenings and enjoyed the surrounding garden. Jennifer served us a beautiful breakfast each morning of fresh fruit muesli and a lovely cooked breakfast. While we felt we were in the countryside away from it all we were actually very well located to go to Mayfield Gardens, Oberon, Bathurst the caves there is so much around to see and do. Glenburn House is a real gem and we will be coming back one day.
Located in O'Connell, Mimirosa Bush Cabin is a bush retreat surrounded by natural flora and fauna. It offers BBQ facilities and free on-site parking. You can enjoy mountain views from all the rooms. The hosts are very super friendly and even welcomed us with local flowers. We really appreciated being able to bring our dog. The room gets quite cold at night and can be heated via the fireplace which was a very unique experience for us we greatly enjoyed. It was adorable being able to see their new born goats as well as the other farm animals.
Located just a short stroll from the spectacular Jenolan Caves, this historic hotel offers a range of accommodations options. The award-winning restaurant features a stunning grand dining room. They had just re-opened after a long close so they did really well considering.
I visit a friend in Oberon. I love the monthly farmers market. If you go to jenolan caves, take a camera and an empty bottle to take home some of the superb drinking water that percolates down through the caves.
This is a great little town with a lot of friendly community sprirt reflected in projects like the Oberon-Tarana Historic Railway, the Oberon Regional Museum and for anyopne into Skoda cars (like me), the Skoda Museum is a must! Chinese Restaurant at the Big Trout motel not to be missed either -- great Chinese and Aussie cooking. Very beautiful rural landscape and high plateau country, fresh air, with lots of planted pine forests. I found it pays to check the availabilty of these destinations in advance as they are not always open on all days of the week.
Oberon is located in a very pretty part of rural NSW. Locals are your usual friendly country folk. Several nice places to eat and/or drink. I am aware of weather extremes in that area and you should plan any visit accordingly.
Long trip got there late it was cold in Oberon snow weather when I got there they already had air con on my room was so warm thank you and the shower was lovely and hot and my breakfast in my room next morning was wonderful comfy bed too 😀 and when I was leaving they told me I should visit Mayfair Gardens and I did fantastic 👍👍👍👍
We paid $60 on line to see Mayfield gardens. Considering it was 2c & snowing we rang to cancel only to be told we could not get a refund but a credit for another day! Considering we drove from ACT to see the blossoms that will be gone next week that is $60 we will never see again. A bit of customer service would have been nice. Oberon it’s self was a small town, really did not expect much after isolating for 6 months, just to get away. Bu the people were friendly. The weekend was spoilt by the cold from the rain & snow. We drove up to the dam, but couldn’t get out of the car, too wet. We then continued to drive around viewing old homesteads etc. in the rain. Dinner options were minimal in town so we ate Chinese at the motel which was surprisingly good.
Small but very cozy town. There is everything you need in a single road, only two minutes walking from the hotel. Around the town there are outstanding views and a lot history and nature. The Cave restaurant has very good pasta and pizza!
