The atmosphere was very pleasant and laid back. The place had character, was warm and friendly. Great cooking facilities with everything you would need. Right next to the grocery store. Incredible stay!

The location is in the middle of a lush rainforest that is filled with all manner of creatures- birds, frogs, insects, marsupials …. I loved seeing all the birds who would readily dine on watermelon left on the balcony railing. Many birds would land right beside you as you sipped your morning coffee. The cicadas would sing loudly just after sunset for about 15 minutes. The chorus was deafening at times. We saw a Striped Possum dine each night at the viewing platform which was a treat for us. It was not at all afraid. The rooms were clean and spacious with adequate counter space for prep. The fridge worked well as did the dehumidifier which was almost essential in a sticky wet environment like this. There was a pleasant common areas with a pool table that was in good shape. I was so impressed with the plants around the area especially the two King ferns near the office. These ferns were absolutely huge. Overall this lodge is fantastic if you love nature. There are so many plants and creatures to see. I would highly recommend staying here if you like the outdoors.

This was a heavenly spot in beautiful Yungaburra: private, clean, spacious, and warm (on a cool winter evening the electric fire was a real treat). We ate at Little Eden, the onsite restaurant and had a fabulous meal - very good food, fresh and exciting flavours, served by Rocio and her colleague, both of whom were charming. Loved the special touches: bath salts, teas and coffees, and a lovely glass of port at bedtime.

Malanda Falls Retreat is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Malanda where guests can make the most of the garden and terrace.
