Offering an outdoor pool and barbecue, Anchorage on Straddie is set in Point Lookout in the North Stradbroke Island Region. Free WiFi is available in the rooms. Perfect location, Damien was the perfect host. He gave us info on the best places to visit, which didn’t disappoint. The accommodation was very clean as was the grounds . The property backs on to the beach . A hidden slice of paradise I would say
Just a 2-minute walk from Home Beach, in bush setting, Allure Stradbroke Resort features an outdoor heated pool, a fitness center and a children's playground. Great location! Our beach shack was the perfect size and very clean. Can't wait to stay again!
Boasting commanding views along Main Beach to the Gold Coast, and overlooking the Coral Sea, Whale Watch Ocean Beach Resort offers 40 expansive, fully self-contained holiday apartments at Point... We had a gorgeous view of the sea and the whales and were especially glad of the binoculars made available by Brenda! The following comments are definitely not a complaint, but a few small things it would be good to include: information access in binder to Wifi (did not know it was on the wifi router until the end of our trip); we did look but perhaps missed seeing the info? a couple washcloths 2 handtowels (one provided) hours of restaurants (we arrived Sunday and were unaware all establishments closed by 3pm, except for gelato!)
Day Dreaming enjoys a location in Point Lookout, just a 13-minute walk from Home Beach and 1.7 miles from Flinders Beach. It is located a 10-minute walk from Cylinder Beach and has a concierge... We loved our stay here! The staff were great in making sure we found where we were going and the property was very clean and tidy! Great kitchen and BBQ for eating in and close to the beach and shops. Definitely bring a pair of binoculars with you to watch all the wildlife! We really enjoyed our trip and will be back.
Lovely apartment very clean, comfortable & quiet. Great for a relaxing/ peaceful time away. Amazing view from balcony & easy walk to beach & shops. Enjoyed our stay & would definitely stay here again!
Every where you look is stunning and you get to see whales playing in the water and get to meet the local kangaroos walk ways and lots of viewing platforms and a very cool kids park where the kangaroos are grazing on the grass pretty nice .
Beautiful location. Just be aware there are not many restaurants and cafes open mid-week. Easy to get around but you need a car. Best location is Point Lookout. You must do the North Gorge walk. We saw whales, dolphins, turtles and kangaroos everywhere,
This place is heaven. The walks along the beaches are amazing. Great beaches to swim, the food is great as are the coffee there. 6 times there and my daughter who is 12 wants to go back soon. She loved it
If you are part of a large Group you'll love it. If you Camp in a large group you'll love it. It's your a 4WD enthusiast there's plenty of off road places and you'll love it. If you're a keen Fisherman or a Surfer you'll love it. If you're a couple or a family travelling alone you may get bored - so make it 3-4 days tops. The only place that is open 7 nights a week is the Stradbroke Hotel - the meals were fabulous, amazing entertainment and a lovely Hotel all up. The Surf Club is just shocking, it's old and rundown, plastic tablecloths, filthy windows, tiny bar with little choice - such a shock and disappointment to see this old girl - no place to dine. SC only good for a brief balcony drinks and views. The Bowls Club is very old school and limited openings too. For very brief High season periods you can get Pizza, Fish & Chips & Gelati. Otherwise they are closed too. There was little or no choice for dining. Kokomo is trendy and lovely, but not open often either. One Restaurant at Amity with restricted trading as well. There is no central type "village" anywhere on Straddie, just odd little food shops/bakeries/bottleshops etc scattered around. This was disappointing. Very little choice - no shops - nowhere to go and nothing to do. I think there is definitely room for improvement.
Went for a walk at the point, spotted a koala, a pod of dolphins, a whale, a sea turtle, a kangaroo and a wallaby all within 20min of walking along the beach and track. Absolutely fascinating. Couldn't have been a more perfect walk on that day :)
Lovely view, 1 min walk to main shops and the lookout at Point Lookout. Little coffee window across the road is super convenient. Well appointed kitchen to make meals in the apartment very easy. Comfortable bed and good shower! Great outdoor patio with screen to pull down if it rains. Easy 2 minute walk down to main beach from the patio. The managers were lovely and welcoming as well!
The Location was great, close to Home beach and an easy walk to the pub for dinner. Easy access to the Main beach or Adder Rock 4x4 access roads and it was a pleasant walk to Point lookout for the Sunrise each day. The living area was massive with an extremally comfortable couch for relaxing in the evening.
I loved unit 26. it suited us perfectly, very comfy bed everything we needed just across from the beach. my only complaint is lack of wifi facilities. we have stayed at this resort many years ago and like it then. will book again next time we are at Straddie.
The resort is on the headland at Point Lookout. Not all rooms have a view of the sea, but the beach is quite easy to access and the shops/cafes are walking distance. At least two walking tracks are close.
Wonderful little downstairs apartment with kitchenette facilities. So easy to access and easy stroll to beach and point lookout shops. The owner was extremely helpful and kind. Perfect night away!
Close to point lookout, plenty of public transport and shuttle buses to Amity point and barges, and affordable. Close to beach and bowls club walking distance is great.
Location (directly across from Cylinder Beach and close to Point Lookout). View from apartment. Easy access to pool and beach. Large kitchen. Outdoor BBQ and large patio.
Great location above the bakery and shops at Point Lookout with fantastic views over Main Beach to the south and Frenchman's Beach to the north.
Super comfortable set up. Close to Point Lookout, friendly neighbours and great accommodation. We will definately be back! Thankyou for the stay!
The resort is very close to the beach and easy to walk to, not many places at Point Lookout have this.
