Portarlington Vicarage is located in Portarlington, 65 mi from Melbourne. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. A beautiful window into the history of The Vicarage but with all modern conveniences. Daryl is a wonderful host and attention to detail is amazing. Beautiful artwork is a delight, a very comfortable bed and quality linen is another plus. A lovely cheese platter was ready on our arrival and the breakfast spread was delicious. We had complete privacy during our stay. This would have to be one of the very best B&Bs we have stayed in.
Boasting free WiFi, free breakfast, a bar and a cinema, Starhaven Retreat offers guests the perfect adults only escape, 2 minutes’ walk from Port Phillip Bay beaches. Very enjoyable. Great hosts, excellent location and comfortable. We don’t normally hang around at breakfast chatting with hosts and other guests but it was a pleasure to do so at Starhaven.

This is a copy of what I sent to Geelong Holiday Makers ... To whom it may concern, I spoke to your Vanessa regarding the wi-fi as I w as under the impression that everyone has it connected these days and that I hadn't had a reply to my email request which was sent on 21st April asking if it was connected as it was really important to us before we paid and confirmed our booking. We presumed that it was all to our request when we received our confirmation. I rang and left messages, in fact about 4 times, just to check and never received any reply until I heard from Vanessa on the 2nd May. Not very good business practice I'm afraid. I'm sorry that we don't agree with the other reviews online. On top of all of that, we had no heating whatsoever throughout our time of stay - the 3 small radiators that were left were not nearly enough to heat the size of this house. We absolutely froze. We didn't use the 2 front rooms as we couldn't heat the whole house. When the weather turned on Sunday night, we were not very happy at all - we had to sit right on top of the radiator - this continued throughout an extremely cold spell on Monday and until we left on Tuesday. I did note that these radiators were not tag-tested either in fact I don't think any of the appliances were done. There were no instruction books for any of the appliances either. Consequently we have come home feeling quite miserable and feel we haven't even had a holiday. At our age I think we deserved better! I am asking for some compensation from you to cover for all the trouble we had. You will note that I have sent a copy of this mail onto Booking.com too so they also have an indication of our problems and are waiting for us to write a review for your property. Your sincerely Ian Braybrook & Marilyn Bennet
Portarlington is a wonderful spot for a weekend away. Not too far from Melbourne but you feel like you are in a different world, feel like you are in a little seaside village. It has a great atmosphere, lovely restaurants and a beautiful pier and beach area. highly recommended going there if you haven't already and if you have, going back for more.
Again can’t fault the accommodation and we had a great time at Portarlington would definitely go again pub had great meals at reasonable prices there was a supermarket to buy groceries plenty of other restaurants to eat at and of course the beaches for the grand kids were great 👍
Visiting Portarlington is always enjoyable because there is not much traffic. Going for a walk or bike ride is just so easy to do because if you need something it's not that far to travel to get it. The local pub is a great place for meals as are the the other takeaway food outlets. The views are great from just walking or a short scenic drive.
Lovely place for walks and bakery is a must visit. Lots of wineries and places to visit. Flying Brick Cider is a very pleasant place for a quiet drink or lunch. Great place for runners to train for events.
You must try the mussels and other seafood when in Portarlington . Lovely area, great for walking and running. The beach is not fantastic, but it is a short drive to much better beaches. A nice coastal town with a great range of eating out options and some touristy shopping. Some fantastic vineyards nearby
Very enjoyable. Great hosts, excellent location and comfortable. We don’t normally hang around at breakfast chatting with hosts and other guests but it was a pleasure to do so at Starhaven.
